The novel contains short stories depicting the immigrant experience of black African women in United States with a variety of themes.The stories are told from a I found majority of the stories entertaining and relatable. The last story in the book though felt incomplete and it was the only one I didn't enjoy. In a few of the stories, I found that it mimic stories from relatives, friends, and even my own experience as an immigrant. I would be interested in reading more stories by the author as I found this book to be enjoyable.
