Book Review - Crochet Animal Rugs: Over 20 Crochet Patterns for Fun Floor Mats and Matching Accessories by Ira Rott

This book is packed with tons of fun, cute and quirky items to make for "kids" (but, really anyone can enjoy them). The book is loaded with over 20 fun animal-themed designs to crochet with in-depth instructions and photos. Animals include a panda, crab, bear, dinosaur, cat, elephants, monkey, giraffe and a cat. Each theme includes a rug, pillow, and an accessory to match. I found the designs to be fun and very cute. I haven't made anything but, I can't wait until I have some time to begin working on a few of the designs.

**Disclosure - I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion**

Elle Accessories Spring/Summer 2013

Trends this season-
“Fresh Direct -  From cheery mod checks to poppy pastels and sharp stripes, the season’s best bags and shoes send a crisp, uncluttered message.
Block Buster - Wear them with everything: Color blocking takes an understated turn in low key hues of black, white, and tan.
In the Clear - Sometimes transparency is the best policy. Powder-pink shades meet see-through touches for a light as air effect.
Power Point - Save ballet slippers for the studio and make a sharper statement in pointed toes graphic flats.
Mint Condition - How sweet it is! Accessories go soft this spring with sugarcoated hues.
Clean Break - Streamline your look with pristine structured bags and optic-white heels.
Slide Rule - Business in the front, party in the back: The season’s spiked mules offer a cutting edges alternative to the basic stiletto.”

Play Match Maker with these trends-
“a. the day mini + the flat clutch = a slim, brightly colored clutch pops against the season’s pared-down separates.
b. the deep v + the gold collar = sleek, high drama necklines give these clavicle-framing necklaces plenty of room to shine.
c. the summer shift + the hoboy = a textured, oversize holdall add hardworking heft to the relaxed vibe of jeans and easy dresses.
d. the high-slit skirt + the gladiator heel = pair a graphic cutout boot with an eclectic skirt, rather than the obvious sexy dress.
e. the crop top + the oversize hoop = sparkling, swingy earrings will draw all eyes to your face - even when abs are on display
f. the kimono + the mini clutch = an evening bag with an edge makes a cool partner for romantic dresses”
