Book Review - Dark Ink by Gary Kemble

Journalist Harry Hendrick investigates sordid political corruption. He is intrigued to get to the bottom of it when he hears chilling rumors. Mistress Hel is intent on getting revenge. She uses dark arts to get her revenge from past wrongs.

Harry is asked to investigate a string of murders and deaths. The cause of each death hints to supernatural reasons. As Harry digs deeper into the deaths, he realizes that he is caught inside a deadly web. Can he stop Mistress Hel before it's too late?

When I picked up this novel, I didn't realize it was the second book in the series. The novel could be read as a standalone but, I felt like I was missing some backstory on Harry. I liked the creepy atmosphere of the novel and the supernatural theme. However, I can't say that I am a fan of Harry's. I felt like he spent a lot of time trying to focus his desires than actually doing any investigating work. I finished the novel as it was a quick read but, I don't see myself reading more books in this series.

TokyoMilk Dark Pretty Rotten No. 33 Lip Elixir

The clear lip balm is enriched with aloe leaf and vitamin E to leave lips soft and supple. The lip balm has scents of green tea, jasmine, apple, rose, mandarin, and forest greens. I found the scent to be very pleasant and tantalizing. I like that they redesigned the lip balm container as the old ones were very difficult to open. I can't wait to try the other flavors from the line.

L'Ocean Eyeshadow - L-62 Dark Blue Pearl

The L'Ocean eyeshadow is heavy pigmented, velvety, and goes on smooth. The long lasting color though goes on a bit chalky. The eyeshadow is a soft pearlize blue embedded with silver glitter.

Sweetriot Chocolate-Covered Cacao Nibs - Flavor 70

One hundred percent lightly roasted dark cacao enveloped in 70% dark chocolate with a hint of espresso. Each little 'peaces' has roughly 1 or 2 calories, while the whole container itself  is only 140 calories. Each little container is chocked full of antioxidants, as much as blueberries!  The nibs are gmo-free, dairy-free, kosher, gluten-free and sourced responsibly. Each tin is also specially designed by artist and are limited edition. Inside each tin, are fun facts where the cacao was sourced, even though it reminded me of a fortune cookie [lucky numbers included].

The nibs have a strong dark chocolate/espresso taste. They also left a bitter taste in my mouth after consuming. The nibs were not that great tasting, but I found myself addicted to the crunchy texture. As an added bonus, it did help that it has only 6 grams of sugar along with being packed antioxidants, so really it was  like having healthy  treat [even if it is not, I like to tell myself that it is]. If you are fan of dark chocolate or coffee, then you should try it!
