Book Review - The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

Aiden Bishop is tasked with preventing Evelyn Hardcastle from being murdered at 11:00 pm. However, if he fails the day will restart and Evelyn will die again. Aiden must race against the clock and name the killer if, he wishes to escape. As he wakes up in a body of a different guest every day, he learns each host has a different personality and motive. Will Aiden be able to find out the killer within the eight days?

The novel had a very interesting premise. I like that the novel had elements of sci-fi, thriller, and mystery all wrapped in one interesting book.  While the book was a good and suspenseful read, I had a hard time keeping track of some of the minor details especially, when the future was altered. However, the book is definitely a fun read and I look forward to reading more books by the author.

The novel was a good read about familial bonds, love, loyalty, and forgiveness. I like the portion of the books that spoke about Bolivia's culture and way of life. I found the bond between Sarah and Jenna realistic and endearing. Although, I did find some parts of the novel slow, it was a good read overall.

Ellie's grandpa, Melvin is a world famous scientist. However, he is in the body of a fourteen-year-old boy. I found the book to be a fun and quirky read. I like the scientific references, especially the cat's name. The bond between Ellie and her grandfather, Melvin was both fun and endearing. However, it was a bit weird that they were around the same age and Ellie's friend is in love with Melvin. Overall, a fun and great read.

Book Review - No End of Bad by Ginny Fite + Giveaway

Margaret and Clay Turnbull have the perfect life until one day their entire life is turned upside down. Clay is falsely accused of working for an international drug cartel. To make matters worse, Clay is killed in custody. As Margaret struggles to come to terms with Clay's demise, the people behind the scandal will stop at nothing to cover up the scandal.

The novel is the basic run of the mill government power struggle and cover-up. It was a quick read but, I found some parts to be slow. Overall, a good read for people who like the genre.

Book Review - Death Logs Out by E.J. Simon + Giveaway

After two years of his brother's death, Michael is still struggling to come to terms over his brother's death. It is hard for him to grasp the fact that he communicates with his brother through a computer. While Michael continues to grow his brother's business and bring his brother's murderer to justice, he finds himself being in danger. With Alex receiving a computer upgrade, he is able to help Michael navigate murky waters.

This is the third book in the series and it could be read as a standalone. However, for character and story development I would recommend reading all three novels. After reading the entire series, I felt like the story was stilted and dragged on. Most of the plots were a bit far fetch and to be honest, I lost interest in the novel. For example, Michael claims his wife, Samantha is the love of his life. Yet, he barely spends time with her and cheats on her. He even continuously cares about a woman who has tried to murder his daughter, his wife, and even himself.  I felt like after reading the other two books, the story felt repetitive and boring. I enjoyed the first two books and was really looking forward to reading this novel.
