October 2022 Empties!

It's been a few months since I did a beauty haul post! I would like to say with that three months of no posting I finished a million and one things but, I didn't. I did end up buying a million and one things though.  Not surprising, I finished a lot of basic items along with skin care stuff.

I finished a couple of bars of soap and a few were a lot better than the others. I enjoyed the OffCourt's exfoliating body soap scent but, I felt like the grit was a bit too rough on my skin. I  think my skin is too dry to use something this rough.  The Soap Distillery's  Bourbon soap smelled refreshing and provided a generous lather. I would get this bar again or try another scent. I like that it didn't dry out my skin. I was quite disappointed with the Nopalera Catcus soap because it was $14 a pop and it didn't lather very well. It wasn't very moisturizing and overpriced considering it was meh. I bought six bars of Humble bar soaps from Amazon and found their scents to be nice and the bars provided decent lather. I don't remember the cost but, it was cheaper than Nopalera and worked 100% times better than it.

I always liked Babor concentrated capsules and bought two additional ones: Collagen and SOS Calming.  The Collagen capsules worked great and I felt and notice a difference with my skin texture after using it for a week. The SOS calming smelled terrible almost like vomit and I didn't notice a single different thing about my skin while using. I will be avoiding repurchasing that one again.

June 2022 Empties!

Wow, I can't believe the year is halfway done! It just feels like it has been flying by. I managed to finish a few things this month but, nothing really noteworthy.

I have used a few of Josie Maran's products and have enjoyed them. I was really excited to try her body butter. It had a sweet citrus scent but, it had a weird rotten scent after awhile. I am not sure if the body butter was reacting to my body chemistry.  I did enjoy using the Kinapure Cocoa Vanilla shea butter. It smelled so amazing and it left my skin buttery soft without being greasy.

I got two new soaps that were pretty awesome. The Kiss My Face and Humble soap, were both stars. They were creamy and provided a generous lather. They also didn't strip my skin and make it feel tight.

I got a new scrub from Kopari which I loved. I usually have mixed feelings about their products but, this scrub left skin feeling soft and smooth. the Mudmasky leave on winter mask is a skin savior for the colder months. It locked in hydration and left skin feeling super soft and smooth. It definitely kept my skin from drying out at night.

May 2022 Haul!

I can't believe how quickly the year has blown by! I did trim down some of my purchase, just kidding!

I got a few things this month that I am excited to try. I got this new lip oil from Butter London that looks like it would hydrating and moisturizing. No matter how many times I use lip balm on my lips they still get dry. I got a new top coat from ORLY which I am excited to try. I have used their rubber base coat and it works wonders to keep my nail polish lasting longer.

I got two new soaps from Nopalera and they both smell amazing. One is lemongrass and the other is jasmine scented. I am looking forward to using them. Speaking of scented products, I got this new facial mask from Evolve beauty that looks and smells like chocolate. I can't wait to rub this all over my face and enjoy the decadence.

I got this interesting rinse free facial cleanser from Rain Organica which promises to remove makeup with using a towel/wipe/or a reusable makeup round. I have mixed opinions because sometimes, they leave a residue on my skin or my face still feels dirty. I am excited to have a new body creme from Ouai. Their products always smell amazing and I been trying to hydrate my skin often. I been noticing the condition of my skin has been improving.

April 2022 Haul!

May is that you? I can't believe May is almost half way here, it feels like it was just only yesterday the year started and now, we almost at the 1/3 mark-ish. I feel like the day goes by so quickly when you want to do something fun and relaxing but, when I am in meetings the day go by so slowly.

I got a few goodies this month but, I tried controlling myself. Ha, just kidding!  I heard good things about shampoo and conditioner bars and that they are really good for the environment. I got travel size versions of HiBar Shampoo and Conditioner bars. I recently started trying tablet toothpaste and I kinda like more some days. It definitely less messy but, more expensive unfortunately. I got another cleansing balm because I am completely addicted to them. I love how they can remove the most stubbornest makeup without drying out skin. I got a green tea one from Yadah. I have tried a few skincare products from them and they have been solid.

I got a few lip products because you know that's my thing. I got a new lip gloss from Patrick Ta in "She's Expensive" and yes, this lip balm was so expensive but so glittery! Speaking of glitter, I got some more Lancome Juicy tubes. "Magic Spell" just smells delicious and looks oh so pretty on my lips.

March 2022 Haul!

Wow, I can't believe March is already here. I feel like it has flew by so quickly! February was over in a blink. Well, on to the goodies!

I got a few bath salts from Bathorium that look exciting. I love taking baths and these look like they would be so soul soothing and hydrating to use. They were a bit more expensive than I would normally buy for a single use sachet though. My friend is obsessed with SunAroma soaps and I usually love trying new soaps so, I decided to pick up an eucalyptus and a lavender soap to try. The soaps smells so fragrant before I even open the packaging.

I got a new lip butter mask from Seraphine Botanical that I am excited to try. I usually try to use a lip mask before bed otherwise I wake up with dry and cracked lips. Speaking of dry skin, I am excited to try the Josie Maran body cream. I have tried her other products and other than the nail wipes, I found them to be of quality. I also subscribe to Ipsy and recently they introduced their own line of products. One of the items I got from their "refreshment" line is their lavender deodorant. The packaging is cute and it smells nice. I am hoping it works well too!

Januarry 2022 Empties!

My first empties post for the new year! I can't believe it! I didn't really finish a lot of stuff other than a few face masks and tons of shampoo/conditioner apparently. The funny thing is I went several days where I couldn't even remember the last time I washed my hair.

Most of the items were repurchased stuff but, there were a few noteworthy things. I finished quite a few masks and I did enjoy a few of them. I have a few products from Sweet Chef but, they are mostly moisturizers. I did enjoy this sheet mask and thought it left my skin hydrated. I didn't notice a scent which was disappointing because I usually expect most food-centered mask to have a scent. The Aippo Soothing Expert Soothing Mask had a nice luxurious feeling and my skin felt so hydrated after using. I have always liked the Detoskin brand when I used one of their mask so, I was excited to try their Puer Tea-Time Mask. This one didn't disappoint either. My skin felt and looked so hydrated. I didn't like the
Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Calming Paper Mask at all. Well, more like when I tried to use the mask there was no serum, the entire mask was all dried up! I am not sure if I got an old product or if that's how the mask is but, it ended up going into the trash.

I used to love the brand Sumbody so, I got some of their items. Their soaps are okay, they have a strong clay scent but, I am disappointed on how tiny they are for the prices. I do like they use easy to read ingredients and they are not filled with chemicals. I did like the Lollia Wish Sugared Pastille Perfumed Soap. It had a soft delicate scent but, it didn't last on my skin.

December 2021 Empties!

Wow, I can't believe it's already December! I didn't really finish too much stuff this month other than a lot of skincare and face masks. Usually, I don't go out often during the colder months. I tend to spend most of my time at home drinking tea and applying face masks.

I finished a few masks but, only a handful were noteworthy. I liked the FIF micro hyaluron mask. The serum itself was tacky but, it left my skin feeling so hydrated and soft. The Bling Pop Face Mask Collagen Skin Elastic felt nice on my skin too. I think the packaging is cute and fun. I usually like Ariul's 7 days mask but, the lemon one was so dry out of the packaging I felt like it did nothing. I am not sure  if I was sent an old mask or if that's how the product is.

I usually don't use makeup wipes unless I am traveling. I gotten a packet of Klorane's makeup wipe for my recent trip and it reminds me why I stopped buying makeup wipes. The wipes was pretty much useless against mascara and it left my skin feeling irritated.

I have mixed opinions on Glamglow. It's rarely has any products that actually work for me but, I still end up buying them for some odd reason. I got the Glamglow Moisturizer Omega Rich Moisturizer and didn't really care for it. I thought it was okay. The moisturizer felt very watery and when applied I felt like I had to use a lot to feel anything. The Hank and Henry Stick With It is one of the worst eyeliners I ever used. Most of the time too much product comes out and then it dried up when I barely got to use it.

September 2021 Haul!

Ah September is here! I am so excited for the Fall season but, also disappointed that the year has already gone by. I feel like that I have blinked and another year has gone by.

I love fancy soaps and when I came across the brand Finchberry Soapery, I knew I had to get a few of their soaps. I decided to get their 8 piece sampler and the soaps smell amazing and look so pretty! I am a little shocked at how expensive they are though.

I got a few new sheet masks that I am excited to try. There is this one step Hanaro Modeling mask that has the same results as other modeling masks but it come pre-mixed without any additional steps needed. I think this is pretty cool because modeling masks are cool but, can get messy and unfortunately, they need to be mixed right before using. I had picked up a few sheet masks last week at this local beauty store in the city. Their packaging looks fun and I hope they perform well.

I heard good things about the brand Herbivore and I think I have tried them in the past. However, I saw they had a facial oil called Emerald and I knew I had to get it. I also got a new facial oils from Graydon and  Bybi that I am excited to try.

I remember being in love with Lancome's Juicy tubes so, when I saw L'oreal had a similar one called Colour Juice, I knew I had to try it. I got it in this beautiful rose pink called Panther Pink. I heard good things about Tarte's Jelly Glaze so I got it in toasted coconut. I was debating what color to get it in but, then realized I spend most of my day behind a mask. I ended up going with a soft brown neutral color.

Did you get anything this new that you are excited to try?

August 2021 Empties!

Ah August is here which means summer is almost finished! I can't wait for the cooler weather. I am super proud of myself with all the things I managed to finish this month. I think this is the most I ever finished.

I love using nose strips because its just so satisfying to remove the strip and seeing all the gunk adhere to the strip. The Me Factory 3 step mask I bought was fun to use but some part of the strip didn't stick properly and it didn't work very well. I had bought the strips for $1 and thought that was a fair price.

Usually, I only take warm baths during the cooler months but I been enjoying a nice warm bath here and there when the weather has been tolerant. I recently re-discovered my love for Burt's Bees Milk baths. They have two - one "herbal" for adults and "buttermilk" for babies. They both have a pleasant scent that disappears quickly but, my skin is left feeling so soft.

I liked the Glo Renew Serum. It had a nice scent and when I applied this after applying a sheet mask, my skin was glowing the next day. I liked the ThisWorks Sleep body lotion. It felt relaxing to put on and made my skin softer when I woke up. However, I am not sure if its worth the $$$ price tag.

March 2021 Empties Part 2!

Wow March is almost over and I felt like it just began! I am also very proud that I finished so much stuff this month...which means that next month I am going to finish next to nothing :D

I have love Marc Jacobs but, this was the first time I used their facial products. I am in love with the YouthQuake moisturizer. It smelled and had a texture of creme brulee. I will definitely going to be restocking this moisturizer. I have used several Elemis products and I love putting this on. The cream was so luxurious and felt amazing against my skin.

I have quite a few of Sand & Sky products but, this was my first time using them. The colorfully bottles on my cabinet shelf. Honestly, I wasn't crazy of this mask as it burned so much and I didn't notice a difference. There wasn't much I tried this month that was a standout.

Molton Brown London Ultra Pure Milk Soap

The Molton Brown soap is a creamy soap. It is triple-milled soap made with palm oils and dairy milk. It provides a creamy lather and leaves the skin feeling hydrated and moisturized. I still applied lotion afterward though.

Lollia Poetic License 72 Velvet as Night Fine Perfumed Soap

The triple milled soap comes in a bold colorblocked with gold trimming packaging. Underneath the colorful packaging is block of delicately scented soap. The soap has scents of rose nilk and frankincense. The soap did provide a generous lather and left my skin delicately scented. I usually like floral scents but, I wasn't crazy over the scent. It was hard to place it words it felt, like a mish-mash of scents.

Crystal Waters Winter Pear Scented Soap Petals

I got this as a set for the holidays. One of the junkiest thing I can get (while I do love the person who gave it to me, it just meh..should have given me the $5 instead). Excuse me, while I have a snob moment -- just because I like beauty products and I like sales, I don’t feel like I should get generic beauty products where everything is just off… Why? Because then you end up with shitty little things like these that take up the prime real estate. The glycerine soap petals are infused with soap that you would need one petal at a time to provide a generous lather. However, this is far from the case. The petals were impossible to remove and then they provided no lather and just turned into mush. I thought if I used the whole “flower” maybe I can get a decent lather going. Oh, how was I wrong! Instead the whole thing turned into “play-doh” consistency and fell apart into pieces, while sticking to my tub. It was probably one of the most useless products I ever used -- a complete waste of time and money. I am fearful of even trying the other products that came in this crappy kit.

**Apologies, I lost a few photos for some of my reviews when my memory card and then computer got damaged...**

Cherie Soap Bath Bomb - Crazy Love

The handmade bath bomb is enriched with epsom salt and shea butter to moisturize skin and soothe muscles while enriching your sense.  The bath bomb had a soft rosy scent and turned the water into a soft bright pink. The fragrance died after 5 minutes and while the bath was relaxing, I didn’t notice my skin being hydrated. For almost the same price as Lush bath bombs, these do not come close.

Level Naturals Dragon's Blood + Spice Soap

With the name of Dragon’s Blood, one can’t help but think of mythical creatures breathing fire among villages and philandering loot. However, the “blood” use for this soap isn’t the blood from the fierce firebreather but from an Amazonian tree whose sap is crimson red. The soap is loaded with plant oils, orange and cinnamon essentials oils. The generous sized bar provided a decent lather. The spicy scented soap didn’t leave my skin scented or moisturized. A mediocre soap that I won’t be purchasing again.

Level Naturals Tea Tree + Activated Charcoal Soap

I heard charcoal helps detox skin and keeps it smooth and clear. When I saw this soap, I decided to jump on the charcoal bandwagon and give it a try. The soap is packed with charcoal and tea tree oil. The soap had the scent of charcoal and it stained by my white soap holder a bit (however, I was able to get rid of it with a bit of elbow grease). I didn’t notice much of a different and the soap doesn't lather well. I wasn’t a big fan and probably won’t get it again.

Illume Go Be Lovely Desert Tulip Triple Milled Bar Soap

The handmade triple made soap is vegetable based. It has scents of red tulip, white tea rose and lilies. The soap gives a creamy lather and leaves skin feeling soft and moisturized. My skin was delicately scented and felt like a little “affordable” luxury using this in the shower.

Bee and Flower Sandalwood Soap

I was walking passed a small shop in Chinatown that had a bunch of random things out in front of their store front. After seeing this Sandalwood soap, I decided to give it a try since it was only $2 and it smelled relatively good. I am not a huge Sandalwood fan but my SO is. The soap is apparently more wide known that I thought it was. It is particularly well known for it’s Oriental packaging. The vegetable oil soap base is hand milled and contains no artificial fragrances. The soap provides a generous lather and left my skin feeling soft. However, I still had to follow up with lotion.
