August 2023 Empties!

It's been some time since I did an empties post! I actually had more products than I space for so, hopefully I would be able to do another empty post sooner than later. I did finish a lot of things but I think majority of the items were meh and things I wouldn't repurchase again. There were a few highlights and a few items that I would avoid again in the future.

The Love Beauty and Planet deodorant in coconut water and mimosa flower smelled so great and it went clear. It had a fragrant floral scent. However, during our the heatwave we got hit with, I think I will need to stick with prescription strength deodorant.

I love Elemis products and their  Pro Collagen Marine Cream is so good. It was creamy and soaked right into my skin. I used it both at night and during the day to keep my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I liked the Naven x Koa Life The Glow Up Facial Oil. I got it from Amazon and it left my skin looking so radiant. The oil is enriched with little shimmer that makes your skin glow and it smells amazing. A few drops is all I needed for a dewy look.

I didn't like the Yensa Pumpkin Tumeric mask.  I have mixed feelings with this brand. Some of their products are great while others are garbage. This mask is the latter. It had a weird consistency and no matter how much and the weather, this mask keeps melting and going into my eyes or into my mouth when I apply it. I tried using it on a cold day, it still slips down into my eyes and mouth.

The Seoulista Beauty Hydration Super Serum  is a very hydrating serum that had no added scent. However, the way to dispense the serum was innovative but hard after the product was about half way. The bottle feels heavy but the product is so slow to dispense and no matter how hard you press the squishy bottle one little teeny drops come out at a time.

January 2021 Empties Part 2!

I am really proud of myself for finishing so many things. I have consistently finished quite a few facial sheet masks and full sized products. I finished three nail polishes which is the most I ever finished in one season! Although, I buy at least 20.... I am little sad that some of these indie brands nail polishes tend to dry up when they are about half way finished.  I noticed a lot of times the brushes don't even met halfway to the bottle so there is a lot of product that can't be used which is very wasteful.

I used to love Black Dahlia Lacquers but, I found that their formulas are a bit chunky and they become dried up after a few uses. This was my first nail polish by LynB Designs and  I loved the cheery yellow color but, when the bottle was half way finished, the formula became unstable and chunky. It completely dried up and the brush that was provided didn't reach the bottom so I could try to use it up.

I been doing a lot of scrubs lately and I am not crazy over the dp Hue ACV salt scrub. It was kind of underwhelming and it didn't lather. Although, I like that I wasn't stuck with bits of salt in my hair after washing. I loved the Pistache body butter, it left my skin so soft and hydrated without the greasy feeling. It was such a treat to apply, I found myself applying it throughout the day and it left my skin feeling amazing and delicately scented.

Here is everything I finished -

Soap Cherie Bubble Bath - Relaxation

Who doesn't love a good bubble bath? Probably a lot of people. But, I am not one of them! I love a nice warm soak with a tub filled with frothy bubbles. The luxurious formula is enriched with jojoba oil and vitamin E to moisturize skin. It is formulated with SLS and parabens but, promises to get generous bubbles.

Personally, I love buying bath products but, I find a lot of homemade/handmade bath companies try to bill themselves like Lush by offering the same type of products at a similar cost. I feel for like $32, I was using a lot of product to get a decent amount of bubbles. It didn't even stay bubbly through the whole bath. The bubble bath had a soft delicate scent and it didn't leave skin scented at all. I might try other products from their store but, I am going to be skipping over their bubble bath unless it's on sale.

Lollia Poetic License 72 Velvet as Night Fine Perfumed Soap

The triple milled soap comes in a bold colorblocked with gold trimming packaging. Underneath the colorful packaging is block of delicately scented soap. The soap has scents of rose nilk and frankincense. The soap did provide a generous lather and left my skin delicately scented. I usually like floral scents but, I wasn't crazy over the scent. It was hard to place it words it felt, like a mish-mash of scents.

Fizz & Bubble Spa Bath Frizzy Truffles

I received these spa bath frizzy truffles from a friend as a gift. I love taking baths so I was so excited to receive bath products, but even more excited when it's from a new brand. The Shea butter enriched bath frizzies promise to foam and fizz. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much with how small they are and to be fair, the box recommended mixing a few truffles. Each truffle had a different scent and smelled amazing, but once they were dropped in, they were done. I would suggest this gift for a teen or someone who likes novelty items as I didn’t find them as enjoyable as a Lush bath bomb.

Lush Christmas Sweater Bath Bomb

The cinnamon scented bath bomb released intricate layers of red, orange, and maroon color swirls. It had scents of spicy clove bud, Sicilian lemon oils and coriander seed. The scent was relaxing and good for tired muscles, but it reminded me of mulled wine.

Sabon Bath Salt - Rose

Last year I had received a $200 gift card for my birthday and just recently found it. At first, I thought $200 might be too much, but as I started adding things to the cart, I felt like maybe it wasn’t enough! I am a huge bath person and I loaded up on bath products. When I saw this, I thought it would look so beautiful (loving the glass container!) perched on my bathroom tub in my otherwise ugly bathroom. The bath salts are enriched with a blend of essential oils that left the bath water delicately scented of rose. I also liked how the salts had pieces of rose petals. Although, contrary to what was depicted in the photo on the website while ordering, my rose petals were more like small crushed pieces mixed in and bled through the normally “white” salts. The packaging recommended using 5 scoops (which would have been helpful to include a scooper); I just dumped a bit of the product into the tub. The salts and scent were relaxing, but I didn’t notice my skin being hydrated or smooth. A cool product, but I am not sure I would get it again unless I had a discount.

Cherie Soap Bath Bomb - Crazy Love

The handmade bath bomb is enriched with epsom salt and shea butter to moisturize skin and soothe muscles while enriching your sense.  The bath bomb had a soft rosy scent and turned the water into a soft bright pink. The fragrance died after 5 minutes and while the bath was relaxing, I didn’t notice my skin being hydrated. For almost the same price as Lush bath bombs, these do not come close.

BBW Aromatherapy Stress Relief Eucalyptus Tea Body Wash and Foam Bath

The soothing eucalyptus scented body wash is packed skin conditioners to soothe and nourish skin. The eucalyptus and tea essential oils help relieve stress and uncertainty while promoting calmness.  I have tried the other stress relief body wash and they both smell almost the same. The soothing body wash provided a generous lather and a soothing scent. Unfortunately, the body wash didn’t  moisturize my skin.

Lush Sakura Bath Bomb

I was super happy when I came across this Lush Blooming Beautiful set. I do like some of Lush products but some I feel are very overpriced or they over-promise and under-deliver.  This is particular bath bomb lands in between that spectrum. The sweet scented bath bomb has a feminine scent with notes of jasmine and mimosa.

The scent had a strong  scent prior to adding it to the bath but once in the water the scent sorts of evaporate. The water turned a bit pink and then had a murky dirty look. It was still soft scented but barely there after 5 minutes. My skin was barely scented on some parts but my skin is soft. It's a bit pricey (some sets actually cost more than when you buy the items separately as they charge extra for the packaging) so, I don't know if I will indulge in this particular bath bomb again.

Sumbody BathMelt - Milky Rich

The cute bath melt comes in 4 sections which allows you to use as little or much as your heart desires. Personally, I didn’t find this bath bomb intoxicating (promised scents of vanilla and fresh citrus, I sniffed neither) and it was rather meh sniffing to me. The silky bath melt is packed with Pacific sea salt, cocoa butter, goat milk, and  sodium bicarbonate. The bath was a bit slippery because of the oil blends, so please be careful. My skin was silky smooth (I used all four squares) but I noticed the bath melt didn’t melt completely and kind of morphed into a little ball and stayed in the bath with me. It was kind of weird looking. Overall, for around $6 I am in no rush to try this again.
