Book Review - The Body Under the Piano by Marthe Jocelyn

Aggie Morton lives in a small town on the coast of England. She is shy but, has an adventurous and imaginative streak. After her beloved father passed away, Aggie hasn't been able to do much. Until she crosses path with a young twelve-year-old Belgian immigrant named Hector Perot. When a dead body was discovered in her dance studio, Aggie and Hector join forces to help solve the crime. The pool of suspects is growing larger and the murder is threatening to tear the town apart. The duo will need to use their deductive skills and their curiosity to help solve the crime before Aggie's beloved dance instructor is charged with a crime Aggie believes she didn't commit.

The book was a cute read for children who love mystery and suspenseful novels. The plot twists and secrets were all very predictable and I was able to guess all of them before they happened. However, I am a grown adult and children would probably enjoy putting clues together to solve the mystery on their own. This novel is perfect for young readers who enjoy mystery novels.

Book Review - Christmas at Grey Sage by Phyllis Clark Nichols

Maude and Silas deck out their adobe house with all the holiday trimmings that delight and thrill family and friends alike. Christmas at The Thornhills' Gray Sage Inn is always a day to remember until a tragic accident occurs. Now, Silas and Maude go on vacation during the holiday to escape the painful holiday memories. When Maude's best friend, Lily asks her to open the inn during the holidays for a group of eccentric travelers, she was hesitant to agree.

When the group of travelers arrives, they are surprised that Grey Sage Inn isn't decorated with Christmas decorations. After a snowstorm hits Santa Fe, the guests find themselves stranded and try to make the best out of the holiday as possible. Will Maude and Silas be able to heal and appreciate Christmas again?

The novel started with Maude's appreciation for Christmas; going into detail about her favorite decorations, traditions and moments. Then we get to meet the group of eccentric travelers and from there we find out why Silas and Maude don't celebrate Christmas anymore and the backstory of each traveler. I found the first few characters really boring and halfway towards the book, it finally picked up, but by then I was already over reading this book. It is a nice cozy reading novel for readers who loves Christmas stories, but this wasn't really my cup of tea.

Philosophy Candy Cane Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath

I found this limited edition holiday scent in my recent stash cleaning. I came across this sweet scented 3-in-1 formula and couldn’t wait to use it. The peppermint scented product has the most alluring scent and is perfect for the holidays. Like most of Philosophy’s bath products, it provides a generous lather but you would need to follow up with lotion afterwards.

L.A Colors Colors Craze - Candy Sprinkles

One of my many New Years resolutions was to eat healthier and exercise more. I also, sadly gave up my beloved sweets. I saw this nail polish and my mouth drooled. I thought of cotton candy, candy buttons, and other delicious diet no-no's.  The light pale pink with large hexagon purple, green, yellow and silver [or white?] glitter with tiny specs of silver, blue, green and red. Overall, it's one of my most unique nail polishes I own and I usually like wearing it during the spring with a nice spring dress [by dress, I mean T-shirt and jeans].

BBW Winter Candy Apple Anti-Bacterial Moisturizing Hand Lotion

When I first came across this lotion I was intoxicated by the sweet allure of it. After I bought this I couldn’t wait to try it out. I instantly became disheartened when I noticed that it was an antibacterial lotion with Triclosan. As I am a germ freak, I carry and have tried tons of hand sanitizers.  Most of them dry out my hand or leave my hands sticky.  I assumed that this lotion would either leave my hand sticky or dry it out because of the triclosan.  But this lotion did not disappoint. It left my hand soft, sweetly scented and clean from germs [or so I assume and will continue to believe]. The lotion is enriched with vitamin B and E and wheat germ oil which gave its moisturizing properties.
