Julep Nail Polish - Hartleigh

The holographic top coat has specks of white hexagon glitter, holographic glitter dots and red heart shaped glitter. The top coat can be use by itself or as a top coat. The glitter was a bit chunky and most of the red hearts glitter was stuck on the bottom. It took several tries it the hearts out. With two coats, the nail polish provided full coverage but the glitter does feel a bit rough. I usually apply a top coat to make the glitter less rough and to keep the hearts in place but it makes a bit thick and then the polish chips more easily. Overall, its nice by itself or as a top coat for roughly a day or two before it chips.

OPI Nail Lacquer Shatter - White

Before the Shatter [Sienna]Julep Nail Polish - Sienna

It reminds be of birch wood.

I recently went shopping to my local drugstore and saw these on sale for $4.99 and decided to pick up a  couple of colors. I was actually quite surprised they still made these but guessing these are no longer on trend. The color was a bit a bit streaky and watery [I guess that's why it is on sale]. The "shatter" effect doesn't last very long, I am guessing because the polish is old but I do like the effect. I used Julep Nail Polish - Sienna  underneath the white shatter.

Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots - 95 Blue Marks the Spot

I saw this nail polish advertised in magazines and I couldn't wait to try it. I am especially happy that  a lot more nail polishes are more in tune with Franken [Indie] nail polish and nail art trend.  The semi opaque blue tint nail polish is sprinkled with black and white confetti glitter.  The milky blue nail polish was difficult to apply and  the glitter didn't go on evenly. Like most glitter nail polishes after the first couple of uses all the glitter just sits on the bottom of the bottle.  The nail polish smudges easy and as you noticed some spots missing glitter even though I had use multiple coats. The nail polish chips very easy. It didn't even last day before it started chipping. I didn't use a top and base coat at first but even when I used a top coat the nail polish chipped and was bumpy.  The polish didn't dry shiny but with more jelly finish with the confetti on the bottom.  Overall, this is a mediocre nail polish in terms of quality but great in terms of appearance.

Relvon Nail Art Style Strips - Fashion Hound

While going abroad I was debating whether I should paint my nails or get them done. I figured both ways, I might still end up with chips. I thought I should give nail strips I try since I know they have no downtime and don't really chip or peel. The pink and black sparkly houndstooth pattern was very nice and playful. Some people had asked me how long did it take to do that pattern, I just smiled and said "forever!". The package came with 16 strips, a nail file and orange stick. While it was very easy to go on and use  but it took a bit of practice since it was awhile since I used nail strips. I occasionally had used for an accent nail.  Most of the strips I was able to fit on my nail but some were a tad to big or small but I was able to snip the excess. I did get a bit sad on those where sizes were too small and the only other "available" one was way too big. Overall, I got almost 6 days before I got tired of wearing it and started picking at the ends that were lifting up a bit. But I am sure if I applied a top coat, the edges would have stayed firmly down.  It was a nice way to try a new trend or decorate one nail "fancy", without a lot of work and effort. Plus if you have really small nails you can squeeze two uses out of one strip! :)
