I
was in the market for a new lip gloss and I wanted one with a bit of
color but it shouldn’t didn’t leave my lips sticky. Especially, since it is super windy lately and I hate when my hair gets stuck on top of my gloss. I know the easiest solution would be not to wear lip gloss, but that's not really fun! I was familiar with
the Pixi brand, so I decided to try this lip gloss, since it also
promises to plump up paltry lips. The cherry colored lip gloss went on
sheer but smelled like crayons. The non-goopy lip gloss didn’t go on
sticky, but my lips did leave sticky. My lips did look fuller but not by
much. I would continue using this lip booster as a lip gloss but not
for the sole purpose of plumping up my lips.

Tom’s of Maine Wicked Cool Toothpaste
This
toothpaste is made for older kids [those who are a child at heart] who
have outgrown kiddie flavored toothpaste like strawberries and bubblegum
but don’t like overpowering mint flavor in regular toothpaste. Like
Tom’s toothpaste it has no artificial dyes, sweeteners or flavors while
strengthening enamel and freshening breath. When I saw this I didn’t
realize it was going to have a mild taste, I thought with a name as
“Wicked Cool” it would be blast of cool mint. I like my toothpaste to
leave my mouth with a strong minty taste as I usually have a two hour
commute to work and people are thisclose
to my face. The toothpaste does foam up well but I think I am going to
save it for days when I am going to have breakfast after brushing and I
don’t want a strong minty taste.
Burt's Bees Soothingly Sensitive Aloe & Buttermilk Body Lotion
The
hypoallergenic dermatologist tested is made for sensitive skin and
clinically proven to provide moisturization. The 99% natural lotion
is packed with natural extracts of aloe, buttermilk, chamomile,
calendula, St. John’s Wort, rosemary and linden flower to smooth and
soothe achy skin. The lotion absorbed quickly but left my hand feeling
sticky and the lotion doesn’t smell very pleasant. It is not the worst
lotion I have ever used but I am not really into the scent and my sticky
fingers afterwards.

Gud Natural Body Butter Orange Petalooza Blood Orange Flower
Gud
is created by the creators of Burt’s Bees, so it is not formulated with
any parabens, phthalates or petrochemicals. The thick body butter has
shea butter to help alleviate dry skin. This rich and creamy lotion is
very moisturizing but it is a bit greasy. It does absorb quickly and
leaves a scent of blood orange and hyacinth. I personally, didn’t like
the scent very much but I did like how my skin felt after applying the
body butter. I think next time, I will try another one of the other 5
scents available.

Dove Hair Therapy Nutritive Solutions Daily Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner
This
new shampoo and conditioner goes to the hair’s cellular level to
promote healthy hair with the Pro-Moisture Complex. With just one wash,
the duo promises to moisturize for 5X smoother hair without excess
residue or weighing down hair. The creamy shampoo provides a generous
lather and washed out clean. The conditioner left my hair silky smooth
and soft. I did notice though when I used a lot of product my hair
looked greasy. So, use a little and you still notice some results.

Burt’s Bees Naturally Ageless Smoothing Eye Cream
I
have always been a big fan of Burt's Bees Radiance Eye Cream. I decided
to give this eye cream a try mostly because it is formulated with
pomegranates[everything is better with pommies], magnolia and horse
chestnut extracts. The delicious [to me at least my brother hated the
scent] scented eye cream promises to smooth and diminish the appearance
of lines, crow’s feet, dark circles and under eye puffiness. The eye
cream made my skin smooth and soft. The best part I was able to fake a
good night sleep with the just a little eye cream the night before.

Bite Beauty VIB Rouge Creme Lipstick
Guess who is finally a Sephora VIB Rouge again! :P I forgot to swatch it before. It looks like I might need to get a new camera since my first 5 batches of photos got deleted :(
This "limited edition" shade is from what I heard is only available for VIB Rouge for $28. The creamy red lipstick is formulated without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, GMO, triclosan, phthalates and is gluten free.
It has a matte finish but it is hydrating and leaving lips feeling soft and smooth. It went on smooth and felt nice against my lips. It is a nice creme red that reminds me of old school glamour. I am almost finish with my little sample :( and I am really debating whether or not to get the full size.

Memoire Liquide Fleuer Liquide Reserve Edition Creme de la Creme
I
actually came across this lotion while coming from [or was it going
to?] Europe [trust me, it wasn’t as fancy as I just made it sound! :) ]
While trolling around the airport shops idling away some time and the
extra money I had exchanged I came across some a beauty store. I saw
Memoire Liquide had a little display of perfumes and lotions. The
company is based off of the premise of memories and scents are
intertwined together. Which I wholeheartedly agree, I tend to buy a new
bottle of perfume every time I go on vacation or to mark a special
occasion. I then usually only use that perfume while I am on vacation,
for example when I went to Las Vegas I only used Bvlgari Mon Jasmin
Noir. Whenever I spray it I remember Sin City and the money I lost and
the dry, itchy skin...Thanks Vegas. The lotion is rich, creamy and
leaves my skin soft and delicately scented. The lotion has notes of
Orange Blossom, Fresh Mimosa, and Night Blooming Jasmine. The lotion is
very heavy scented so a little goes a long way. Overall, I love this
lotion and mostly use instead of perfume on those really hot sticky
days.

H2O Plus Cream Soap
The
triple French milled bar soap is creamy and gives a rich lather. It has
fresh spa scent with hints of sea salt and green tea. It left my skin
feeling soft, smooth and didn’t dry out my skin. I love that it came in a
nice travel size. I used this while during overnight stay in NYC and it
made my bath time feel a bit spa like [the rubber duckie helped a bit
too]. Overall, for $2 a bar it was quite inexpensive and nice treat for
hectic week.
January 2014 Empties
Happy February,
Oh man, I dropped the ball, I forgot to upload my empties! Hahah, there goes my newest feature. :) I have, however, decided to try and upload a new review every day [let's hope it doesn't go the way of my empties log] and at least a new magazine synopsis every 2 weeks. As always, please let me know your thoughts and comments!
You might notice some of my newest entries will be missing photos but they will be added later of the product when they are half used. [I usually photograph the products before using them] My camera has been deleting my photos randomly [and/or bad picture quality], oh..sigh..just when I blown almost all of my discretionary spending on skincare and makeup! I might be getting a new one, sometime, in the future..hopefully, and I would love to hear recommendations.
Have a great one!
