March 2021 Haul!

Wow, its already March 13th! Where has the month gone? I feel like this year has been moving so quickly...although last year was quite the blur.

I got a few Bonvivant masks and they are pretty good. They are decent masks that I used to get from Memebox when they were selling stuff. Now, I usually get them from Amazon. I am still sad that they are no longer a store that sells other brands. They used to have some really amazing deals.

I got quite a few new lip products. I got a few Clinique chubby sticks, I haven't used these in awhile but, I remember loving them. I can't wait to use this one especially the red. I got this really cute heart shaped lipstick from Kaja in Be Mine. I got a few repeat lip products that are favorites such as the Tarte lip pencils and Burt's Bees lip balm.

As the weather is warming up, I got two new scrubs to help get rid of  flaky skin. I love coffee scrubs but, sometimes they are so messy. I bought two different brands: the Coffee Scrub and Frank Body. I am excited to see how each one performs.

I been breaking out a lot lately so, I got some of those acne patches. I heard good things about it so, I am excited to try it. I got another bottle of Huxley Secret Essence. This thing is amazing and I love it so much. I am excited to try the Peach and Lily Glass Skin serum. People swear by it and my skin could use a pick me up.

Did you get anything this month that you are excited to try?

January 2021 Empties!

Wow, it's almost the middle of Jan and the days are just flying by! Sometimes, I wonder if my entire life is just standing still...I kinda feel like that sometimes. But, I understand why things need to be the way they are.

Because I been "stuck" indoors for 99% of my time (other than to get essentials and run errands) I haven't really been finishing anything other than face masks. I was thinking that maybe I should cut back on my other beauty purchases but, that really hasn't been the case. I can't refuse a good sale. However, I am trying to make an effort to finish 5 things (regardless of their size) that isn't a face mask. Thankfully, I was able to complete it for this empties post. Hopefully, I can keep the momentum going.

I have tried some new masks from Facetory. They are all solid but, nothing noteworthy to go out of my way to get again. I used two new soaps and they are very creamy. The Tom's of Maine and the Le Petit Marseillaise soap is creamy and provided a generous lather and my skin didn't feel dried out. However, I still needed to follow up with lotion. I might get them again.

I had the Yes to Carrots lotion for a bit and I finally finished it. I used to love the brand a lot more but, I feel like they have gone downhill. I read about people having severe allergic reactions to one of their masks and the company wasn't doing much about pulling the product from stores. I still have a few more of their products to use and I think I will stop buying from them. I have the full size Laneige lip treatment and it smells amazing. It has a sweet cotton candy smell and a tacky texture. I use this before going to bed. However, I do not use it alone otherwise, I wake up with dry lips. I apply a lip balm and then top the balm with this lip treatment.

Here is everything I finished -

Bonvivant Botanical Mask Pack Madecassoside + Mugwort

Bonvivant is MemeBox's inhouse brand before they started only making beauty products. I used to love shopping on their page to get curated boxes at great prices. I wish they went back to their old sales model of also selling other brands too.

I bought this mask during one of their many promotions for $2. Since it's an affordable mask, I use it quite often in my everyday mask rotation. The mask is enriched with madecassoside, mulberry, fig, pomegranate, ginkgo nut, mugwort extracts to enrich, soothe, and revitalize stressed skin. The mask fit my face well and was comfortable to wear. My skin was left hydrated and soothe the blemishes I had on my cheek.

BioBelle Botanic Fiber Face Mask #Decadence

Facial sheet masks are a mainstay in my weekly routine. I used to use one Sundays before work but, I, unfortunately, bought so much over the years that, I have enough to use one every single day for the next five years and still have some leftovers. And now, I have quite comfortable using facial sheet masks more often. I haven't quite mastered using it every day but, usually at least three times a week.

I have used quite a few brands of sheet masks over different price points and noticed just because a mask is sometimes priced higher doesn't always mean it is good. BioBelle masks are one of those rare unicorns where they are under $5 and you notice results after the first use. I was actually drawn to this mask because I have a huge sweet tooth. The sweet-scented mask is enriched with chocolate and acai berry extracts. This mask really does seem decadent and was a treat to use. My face was left hydrated and revitalized. This is one of my favorite brands of sheet masks and I always reach for it if I know I have a special event coming up.

Petitfee Placenta Hydro Gel Essence Mask Pack 98% Hydro Gel

I finally got around to using this mask that was in my Memebox I bought earlier in 2015. At first, I was a little skeptical of putting it on because it was made with Placenta --- like _that_ type of placenta or more like placenta from a flower. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find much information online that was in English. The clear liquid (utilizes deep sea water) itself smelled and looked okay -- but it took a bit to get over the ick and unknown factor to me. The mask was composed of hydrogel and still kept my skin moisturize and soft after removing the mask. The mask did fit my face but not a perfect fit but I would try this mask again if I could find it under $4 for each one.
