Julep Rethink Your Shower Hydrating Body Cleansing Oil

I usually use a  combination of shower gels and bar soaps for showering purposes. I feel like some shower gels are not moisturizing enough and well, some bar soaps are dull. Especially on days where I need to something "extra" to make my mornings more bearable.

The lightweight body cleansing oil is packed with grape seed oil, coconut oil, kukui nut oil, grapefruit peel oil, and glycerin. It promises to leave skin hydrated and moisturized. The cleansing oil provided a generous lather and did leave my skin feeling soft. However, I still had to follow up with lotion.  It's not a bad shower cleanser but, it's definitely pricer than the brands available at the drugstore.

Sol Janerio Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

This cream has a cult following and came highly recommend from my friends. The creamy lotion is packed guarana, cupuacu butter, acai, coconut oil, mica, and pistachio caramel leaves. The sweet delicately scented cream promises to help with dry, dull, slack skin and uneven skin tone. The cream was absorbed easily but it did leave my skin a bit greasy. I didn’t noticed any difference other than my skin being hydrated.

The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter

The creamy body butter is packed with nourishing beeswax, tropical virgin organic coconut oil and hydrating shea butter. Although, the body butter claims to have a tropical coconut scent; it smells more like cocoa butter to me. It also has the same consistency and melt in your skin texture. My skin felt soft and smooth but I didn’t get 24 hour hydration as promised. Overall, it’s a mediocre product. I feel like you can get the same quality from a jar of Palmer’s Cocoa butter from the drugstore without the $20 price tag.

Four Truffle Lime Basil Mandarin Body Butter

The rich whipped body butter has unisex scent of citrus and peppery undertones. The body butter is packed with shea butter, vitamin E, aloe vera juice and the oils of olive, argan and virgin coconut. According to the Four Truffle’s product description, the body butter promises “neutralize free radicals and infuse skin with essential fatty acids, iron, vitamins and intense nourishment”. I am not sure if the body butter actually neutralized the target, doesn’t  that sound very high tech? The rich body butter is thick and left my skin feeling greasy. Which why I tend to use this before bed and wake up with softer and smoother skin.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

The super popular hand cream is sold every three seconds around the world. The hand cream is enriched with 20% shea butter, honey, almond extracts and coconut oil. The cream promises to absorb quickly to soften, smooths, protect, and moisturize.  The  reamy lotion goes on smoothly but I find it left my hand a bit greasy. My hands does feel soft and smooth but I wasn’t fond of the greasy feeling. So I use it mostly at night before going to bed so I can wake up with soft hands without dealing with the greasy feeling. I did try putting a small amount but my hands still felt dry and looked ashy.

Verve Organics Soul Sister Lavender Nut Sugar Scrub

With an ingredient list that sounds like a recipe - turbinado sugar, coconut oil, macadamia nut oil and lavender oil, it smells good enough to eat! The gritty body scrub exfoliated my dry skin and left it soft and moisturized after stepping out of the shower. While it was recommend for use on your feet, I used it all over my body for silky smooth skin. The lavender scent is soft and barely scented my skin.

Julep Rock Star Hand Creme

The anti-aging hand creme is packed with shea butter, glycerin, coconut oil and vitamin E. This emollient blend keeps hands hydrated, even after you finishing washing your hands. The non - greasy, fast - absorbing creme has a clean scent. It left my hands felt pampered, soft and smooth. I love applying this creme as feel like a mini-spa treatment especially after using the Julep Glycolic Hand Scrub. I, at first, love the cap but after using it for awhile I realized, the product gets stuck on the cover and it is just messy.
