Find your perfect cover up -
“1. The fabric - a sheer, light material will show off your suit. For more camouflage, look for an opaque but breathable cotton. Avoid clingers, such as silk, which will reveal each and every contour.
2. The shape - think about what you want to highlight [if you’ve got nice legs, go short] and where you’d prefer coverage. Thick middle? Arm that tend to burn? Try a floaty silhouette with long sleeves.
3. The combo - add Grecian sandals to a drapey version for a pool party. Or pair a brief, shirt like style with white jeans”.
How to Keep Whites - White
“1. Divide whites and colors - you already do this in the laundry room. But did you know that you should keep whites separate in your closet too. Closet can transfer even when clothes are dry. Store pale shoes in cloth bags; hang white clothes away from darker pieces.
2. Act Fast - stops water based liquids such as red wine, from absorbing into silk by laying the garment flat, applying a liberal dusting of salt [ substitute baby powder if the stain is greased based) and letting it sit for a few hours. Dry cleaning can also help delicate fabrics rebound.
3. Use some elbow grease - many shoe stains can be removed with a capful of Woolite mixed into a cup of water. Dab the solution onto leather with a clean cloth [on suede, use a nail brush] and buff gently. For patent leather, try a spritz of Pledge.
4. Don’t Bleach, seriously - bleach can actually cause yellowing. Instead adding an enyzmatic laundry booster like Oxiclean to your detergent and washing frequently to keep denim and cotton sparkling.”
