Pure Radiance by Yankee Candle - Crackling After Dark

I love using candles, especially during the colder months. It just makes my home feel cozier. This candle is a part of the new line of Yankee Candle. It has scents of night air (how does one even distinguish that?), garden herbs, rich woods, and musk. It does have a more masculine scent and could be used for the Halloween season. It has a medium throw and the candle burned evenly. I also like the thicker wick, especially when reading in the late afternoon. I am looking forward to trying the other scents in the line.

Anderson Lilley Super Bloom No. 14 Candle

I believe I got this candle in one of my subscription boxes. Although, if I had bought it, I would have gotten it for the vessel. I have been known for buying candles for their containers instead of their scents.

The candle has scents of basil, tangerine leaf, anise, lily of the valley, jasmine, violet,  geranium, rose, rosewood,  and cashmere musk. The scent is pleasant but, didn't have much of a throw. I would have to stand very close to the candle to even get a faint trace of the scent. This wasn't my favorite candle but, at least I still have a new container for my makeup brushes.

I love lighting a candle during the weekend and reading a nice book. I love the packaging from Margot Elena's products. The candle has a delicate scent and  doesn't last very long. I could barely smell the candle when I got up from my chair and walked a few steps away. Definitely not my favorite candle but, I am still open to trying other scents from the brand.

Primark Home Paradise Palm and Coconut Candle

I love Primark! The store is filled with affordable finds for every occasion and person. A few items have questionable quality though. The clothing can be worn out quicker than other brands and the fit varies per item. I love their candles as they are small and fragrant and usually under $5. This one had a soft tropical scent that wasn't very overpowering. I usually lit this candle after I finished cooking or when I am in the tub soaking. The scent is quite soft and fades quite quickly. But, when I am trying to cut down on expenses, the candle is a nice treat.

Primark No. 4 Sandalwood Candle

I am going to shout it from the rooftops, I love Primark! Yes, it's super cheap and the quality is questionable at times but, I love the thrill of a good bargain. The softly scented candle has scents of earth and musk. I love that for $5, it had around 60 hours of burn time. While this wasn't my favorite scent, I will definitely try their other scents.

Primark Home No. 18 Peach Bellini Candle

I found this sweet scented candle at Primark for only $5. The candle had a sweet and fresh peachy scent. It has a 60 hours burn time which is very good  for the price. It wasn't my favorite scent as it is bit mild but definitely worth price.

Thompson Amber Oud Candle

I came across this candle while at an outlet store near my apartment and thought it wasn't bad for $10. The musky scented candle smelled exactly like it's name and it is a soy wax blend with 100% cotton wick. It has around 60 - 80 burn time and the container makes a pretty catch up to store my brushes in the bathroom.

Book Review - Phoebe's Light (Nantucket Legacy #1) by Suzanne Woods Fisher + Giveaway

Phoebe Starbuck always follows her fickle father in his latest get rich scheme. However, on her latest birthday, she decided that she will do what she wants and that is to marry the illustrious Captain Phineas Foulger and to sail away with him on his latest adventure. Her father not trusting the intentions of the Captain gives her daughter a journal from her great grandmother, Mary and companion for her. Phoebe, however, has little use for both at first, but when she realizes the life at the sea is nothing that she expected she comes to rely on the gifts her father gave her. Will Phoebe be able to find happiness while living on the ship?

The novel had an interesting premise about a woman who is traveled the sea with her husband in search of majestic whales. While they were some slow parts to the story, I still felt that the story was interesting especially the historical aspects. I appreciated how detailed the author was and for including a dictionary to help with words used during that time frame. A fun read and I can't wait to read the next installation of this series.

Diptyque Liquidambar Candle

I recently started dropping a pretty penny on fancy candles usually around the holidays when I feel stressed out or want to treat myself. The candle has scents of liquid amber, nutmeg, cinnamon and sugar. It has a slightly sweet and spicy scent without being overwhelming. The beautiful glass container is decorated with abstract colors of red, gold and green which represents the embrace of a "large autumnal tree". Not my favorite scent from them, but a favorite of my SO and guests.
