Book Review - Darius the Great Is Not Okay by Adib Khorram

Darius Kellner never really fit in with his Persian family. He knows more about Hobbits and Klingon than Farsi and Persian traditions. When his family decides to take to Iran, Darius realizes this trip will change his life.

Darius has trouble fitting in at home and he knows things will be the same in Iran. However, when Darius meets Sohrab, everything changes. They start playing soccer together, talking for hours, and exploring the city together.  Sohrab makes Darius feels that finally belong somewhere.

I thought this was an emotional and delightful read. I found it endearing and easy to relate to Darius. I remember growing up around that age, I constantly felt out of place and had trouble fitting in. As a child of immigrants after a few years in America, I lost most of our culture and blended with American culture more easily. I had a tough time finding a balance between my culture and the love of my new adopted country. I love how this book illustrates that we all need someone to help us feel that we belong. Overall, a great read for readers of all ages!

*Disclosure - I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion**

BBW Aromatherapy Stress Relief Eucalyptus Tea Body Wash and Foam Bath

The soothing eucalyptus scented body wash is packed skin conditioners to soothe and nourish skin. The eucalyptus and tea essential oils help relieve stress and uncertainty while promoting calmness.  I have tried the other stress relief body wash and they both smell almost the same. The soothing body wash provided a generous lather and a soothing scent. Unfortunately, the body wash didn’t  moisturize my skin.

Juara Tiare Jasmine Tea Bath and Shower Gel

The sweet jasmine tea scented body is enriched with extracts of green, white, and black teas to soothe and calm skin.  The body wash is both sulfate and paraben free and employs natural cleansers to soften and moisturize skin. While the body wash was a sweet treat to use, I noticed I couldn’t get much of lather. I didn’t bother using it as a bubble bath as it wouldn’t really lather well when I was using a loofah. Although, I did notice that it did leave my skin silky soft. While, I love the scent, I don’t think I would buy this again because I love when my shower gels give a luxurious lather than envelope me.

Teas have touted many health benefits and have long been treasured by people for centuries. They are packed with antioxidants, contain less caffeine than coffee, boost metabolism and nourish your body. Tea is such a powerful tool that it has even been incorporated into many beauty regime through beauty products.

I  recently came across this brand in Dean and Deluca. The brand's exquisitely designed tins caught my attention. The muslin tea bags were quite a treat. The Be Cool had notes of licorice, rose hip, verbena and peppermint. It has a mild taste and smells of sweet mint.  The caffeine free blend is a perfect way to unwind after a long day of work.

As Sappho once said "Love -- bittersweet, irrepressible -- loosens my limbs and I tremble". This tea has a spicy smell with a bittersweet taste like love itself. This black tea is blended with liquorice root, guarana seed, pink pepper and ginseng. While the website claim that "Ginseng and guarana bring you energy and vitality, spices aid digestion, and  liquorice delivers a smooth taste", but I don't really notice any difference. I just love this tea because it is a break from my regular black tea. One thing I love about Kuszmi tea bags is that they have vital information how to brew a perfect cup right on the tag itself. It displays the perfect temperature for the water and how long the tea needs to be brewed for, how convenient is that?

So what are you waiting for, go get that bestseller brew yourself a nice cup of tea and get the destressing!
