Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector

Dark circles are the tell-tale sign of the late night before or one too many sleep deprived nights. While I don’t have prominent dark circles and no one seems to notice them [or they are just being nice], I still notice them.  These color specific pens promise to brighten eyes, de-puff and provide SPF protection. The eye perfector is packed with antioxidants, vitamin E, soy and wild chamomile. When I bought mines in the drugstore, I had hard time picking a color since there was little window showing the actual color of the product. I ended up picking a shade to light for my skin tone. When I use the eye perfector on my eyes, it left a chalky residue and looks obvious that I used something to cover up my dark circles, as my eye area was three shades lighter. I resolved to use it during the night as I didn’t want to throw it away. My eyes did look smoother and the dark circles did diminish in appearance.  I also like the pen applicator because it made it easier to place the product in all the right places and the precision tip made it easy not to waste any product. When I finish this one, hopefully I pick the right color next time, so I can actually use it as the way it made too.

BBW Winter Candy Apple Anti-Bacterial Moisturizing Hand Lotion

When I first came across this lotion I was intoxicated by the sweet allure of it. After I bought this I couldn’t wait to try it out. I instantly became disheartened when I noticed that it was an antibacterial lotion with Triclosan. As I am a germ freak, I carry and have tried tons of hand sanitizers.  Most of them dry out my hand or leave my hands sticky.  I assumed that this lotion would either leave my hand sticky or dry it out because of the triclosan.  But this lotion did not disappoint. It left my hand soft, sweetly scented and clean from germs [or so I assume and will continue to believe]. The lotion is enriched with vitamin B and E and wheat germ oil which gave its moisturizing properties.

L'oreal Paris Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer

I rarely use primer but I read many rave reviews about this primer and I thought I should give it a try. It gave a nice healthy subtle glow and gave my face a smoother texture because of the light refracting particles or Byron according to the labels/ads.  My makeup did last a bit longer but it didn’t give the same drastic results from the ads in their magazines.  Although, most of the marketing ads for cosmetics should be taken with a grain of salt, since it is very hard to duplicate the same results. While I did like the soft glow, it didn’t notice that much of an improvement in my skin [although, other people noticed it]. I would probably save it for special occasions and/or when I wear the “natural makeup” look.

Keri Shea Butter Conditioning Therapy Lotion

In the late winter and early summer my skin looks like a scaly desert. As unpleasant as that sounds it feels more unpleasant. Apart from the dry scaly appearance, my skin is also itchy and just quite uncomfortable. I have heard of the moisturizing and hydrating effects of shea butter and I heard this lotion had ample amounts of shea butter. The lotion is very thick, greasy and leaves a sticky residue because of the shea butter. I usually wear it a bit before going bed [I don’t like wearing lotion after showering] to allow it to fully absorb, otherwise I would stick to the sheets and everything else, but when I wake up my skin is soft and renewed. I use this as a weekly treatment rather than a daily lotion.

Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter - Peach Parfait

After reading tons of rave reviews of this lip butter, I wanted to give this a try.  This lip butter promises to leave my lips baby soft and smooth while imparting a touch of color. The creamy lip butter is packed with mango, shea, and coconut butter. While the lip butter melted on my lips and left my lips buttery soft upon application, I noticed the color was a bit of splotchy.  It reminds me of Burt’s Bees lip shimmer but this was a bit more moisturizing and the color had a better payoff. This lip butter was good for the moisturizing benefits but mediocre on the color.

C.O. Bigelow Root Beer Mentha Lip Gloss

This foundation soda inspired lip balm tastes and smells exactly like its namesake.  The lip gloss goes on thick but it is not sticky. The long lasting lip balm leaves a nice healthy sheen on my lips.  Unlike the other Mentha lip balms from C.O. Bigelow, I couldn’t smell or taste any of the mint. The clear gloss doesn’t provide any tint and can be used on top of lipstick to give a high gloss shine. While I am not a big fan of root beer, I really enjoyed this gloss and would probably get it again.
