Book Review - Always Watching (Elite Guardians, #1) by Lynette Eason

The bodyguards of Elite Guardians Agency is an elite group of women who are skilled in law enforcement. Wade Savage is a popular psychiatrist and radio personality and starts receiving gifts from a listener. However, it starts becoming clear that the person sending the gifts might be stalking Wade. Wade's father is worried about his son and hires the Elite Guardians to protect him.

When Wade's bodyguard was attacked and nearly killed, Olivia Edwards, the agency owner must step in and protect him. Olivia's abilities are put to the test when Wade's stalker becomes more aggressive and starts threatening people close to him. Olivia has a feeling that she might be next on the list when she and Wade are starting to fall for each other.

I liked the idea about having female bodyguards but, I thought it was annoying how they were always several steps behind their opponent and how Wade kept babying Olivia. Some of the characters seemed over the top and unrealistic. For example, when the daughter was yelled at for eating chocolates that were left by a stalker. She knew that her father's stalker was dangerous but, instead focused on her father's reaction of her wanting to eat chocolate. I liked that there wasn't too much back and forth in the romantic department. Where one character would push the other one way but, secretly want them. The plot was a bit predictable but, I still found the story enjoyable. I am looking forward to reading the other stories in the series.

Book Review - Don't Turn Around by Jessica Barry

Cait Monaghan and Rebecca McRae are driving together in the middle of the night to a clinic. This is their first time meeting each other. As they drive together through desolate roads, they both realize they have secrets to protect. Secrets that might endanger both of them.

When a truck starts following them, they assume it's teenagers pranking them or someone with road rage. It shortly becomes clear that the person driving the truck is actually hunting them for fun and they are out for blood.

As they continue to drive, the ride keeps getting more dangerous. The secrets they kept buried in the past are out to haunt them. Someone wants one of them and is willing to stop at nothing to get what they want. With the secrets they have, it could be anyone wanting to hurt them. If they want to get out alive, Cait and Rebecca will have to start trusting each other before it's too late.

The first half of the novel kept me intrigued and full of suspense. At first, I liked that alternating characters but, after a while, it got annoying because some of the characters didn't really play a part in the mystery. I am assuming the author did that for the reader to guess who the mysterious person behind the wheel was. The ending was a bit disappointing for me because it felt abrupt and it wasn't what I was expecting. However, I still found the book to be an enjoyable read and look forward to reading other books by the author.

Lush Christmas Sweater Bath Bomb

The cinnamon scented bath bomb released intricate layers of red, orange, and maroon color swirls. It had scents of spicy clove bud, Sicilian lemon oils and coriander seed. The scent was relaxing and good for tired muscles, but it reminded me of mulled wine.

Level Naturals Organic Menthol + Cucumber Shower Bomb

I have always been a huge fan of menthol and bath bombs. I have tried Levels Natural Shower Bomb before but in a different scent. I thought menthol and cucumber would be an interesting and relaxing scent. The aroma was relaxing but the menthol was a bit more overpowering and the cucumber was barely scented. With most natural products, you should definitely use within a couple of days to opening otherwise the scent wears away really quickly.

Lush Sakura Bath Bomb

I was super happy when I came across this Lush Blooming Beautiful set. I do like some of Lush products but some I feel are very overpriced or they over-promise and under-deliver.  This is particular bath bomb lands in between that spectrum. The sweet scented bath bomb has a feminine scent with notes of jasmine and mimosa.

The scent had a strong  scent prior to adding it to the bath but once in the water the scent sorts of evaporate. The water turned a bit pink and then had a murky dirty look. It was still soft scented but barely there after 5 minutes. My skin was barely scented on some parts but my skin is soft. It's a bit pricey (some sets actually cost more than when you buy the items separately as they charge extra for the packaging) so, I don't know if I will indulge in this particular bath bomb again.

Salus Shower Bomb - Lemongrass

I love taking baths but sometimes, one wants the scent of a bath bomb but not the hassle of cleaning the tub, water usage and the time commitment. When I came across this shower bomb, I figured it would help me relax in the shower like a bath would. The bath bomb was very fragrant when I opened and I couldn’t wait to be surrounded by the scent. Unfortunately, that’s the only time I actually got to smell the shower bomb. I put the bomb on the shower floor towards the end the water will hit in but not drown it as it is recommended on the label.  The shower bomb fizzled a bit and then died, barely any scent came out. Super disappointing, what was worst is that there was big  portion of the shower bomb that had no scent and just stayed there. Don’t get me wrong, I sometimes take 30+ minutes showers when I do my “treatments”. I am hoping I got a bad batch but I am in no hurry to find out.

Levels Natural Shower Bomb

This was the first time I ever heard of Shower Bombs.  But being an avid fan of bath bombs, I figured I would give this a try. The gluten free shower bombs were easy to use. Just drop them near direct water away from the drain. Each bomb was packed with organic menthol, eucalyptus and tea tree essential oil to relax and clear away stress. I love the bombs, they felt like being at a spa but private in home experience. I wouldn’t recommend using these as bath bombs as the mint might causes some unwanted tingling sensations. The minty scent was not super strong and I love how relax I felt. I used these when I was feeling a bit under the weather and I usually perk up right afterwards. Even though each shower bomb is individually wrapped, I recommend using them as soon as possible because the first two I used right away within 2 weeks apart and I forgot about them until 2 months later and they didn’t smell as strong as before. One of the shower bombs was so weak, I didn’t even realize it was in the shower with me until I accidentally stepped on it.
