April 2022 Empties Part 2!

Wow, can't believe April is almost finished! The month has definitely went by so quickly. I am excited that I managed to finish quite a few things though.

I always see Glamglow products being touted as a cult favorite and every time I buy one of their products, I just don't see it. I got their treatment mask and their everyday cleanser and I didn't notice any noteworthy results. The natural beauty store I shop at loves Ilia Lip Wrap but, I can't say I am in love. I feel like it makes my lip super dry and uncomfortable. I feel like I have to constantly reapply.

I love the Winky Lux Disco Kitten Gloss in Far Out. I made my lips a glittery soft pink that went perfect with my skin tone. The Freck Beauty Rich Bitch Cactus + Vitamin C Moisturizer is so thick and creamy that when I apply this at night, I wake up with super soft and hydrated skin in the morning.

I got the Aura Cacia Aromatherapy Mineral Bath - Lavender at Whole Foods when, I was supposedly shopping for food. They had a small section dedicated to things that help promote a more restful sleep. The single use packet was enough for one bath and it did make me feel more restful. I love the sleek packaging of Aster Raine Reverse Serum but, honestly it was one of the most stinkiest serums I ever used. I am not sure if it actually worked but, I was really glad when I finished the bottle. I also loved the Basd body lotion. The peppermint scent was so invigorating in the morning.

Here is everything I finished this month -

October 2021 Empties!

October is already here and I can't believe it! I feels like the year has blown by so quickly. However, I am loving this weather and I hope it stays like this for awhile and we have a mild winter. I didn't really manage to finish much this month and the few things I did finish were okay.

I didn't really do many face mask month because I been lazy about putting one on. The two new masks I did try were okay. I did like the Centella mask more than the green tea mask but, they were both average. I did try this new serum from Graydon that goes on like a charm and feels like a treat on my skin. I use it after applying a face sheet and my skin is glowing.

I finally finished a palette and a nail polish! This is the first time this year I finished a palette and nail polish. The Urban Decay palette is so old that I don't really know the name of the palette. I love this green polish and I am so sad that its finished. It's from Lollipop Posse Lacquer in Widely Regarded as a Bad Move. I got it last year for my birthday. The polish lasted so long and was a beautiful color so, I will probably buy more from this brand.

The last few things I tried this month was a bit disappointing. The Generation Clay mask was painful and burned when I applied it. I don't think it even did anything. The lavender spray from Kerstin Florian smelled nice but, did nothing to provide any hydration on skin. The Holifrog was one of the worst scrubs I ever used. The gummy texture made it hard to apply and the product smelled bad.

Is there anything you used this month that you would recommend?

Honey Jarret Super Beau'Tea Mask

Kerstin Florian Aromatherapy Lavender Body Spray
Holifrog Como Popp-e Renewal Scrubby Wash

Sundays Nail Polish - No. 18

I love trying new nail polish brands and since I am home more often, I have more "time" to paint my nails. Out of my ten fingers, only one nail currently has polish and it's chipped. I heard good things about this brand and they recently opened a salon near my job (right before the pandemic).

I figured what better time than now to try this brand. The 10 free nail polish is vegan, cruelty-free, and non-toxic. The shade is listed as a deep plum berry color. I have a similar color in different brands as this is one of my favorite shades for the fall. However, the nail polish didn't apply smoothly and it didn't provide a full and even coverage. I am hoping its just a bad formula for this particular color as I bought a few colors to take advantage of their free shipping promotion.

Color Club Nail Polish - Mrs. Robinson

The perfect color for Spring! The bright Fuschia creme color goes on smoothly and dries quickly. I used 2-3 coats for full coverage. The nail polish lasted 3-4 days without a top coat before I got chips.

Inara Cosmo Beauty Nail Polish - Pulse

I love painting my nails at home. I saw this strikingly beautiful color. The polish went on smoothly and dried quickly without leaving any streaks. Unfortunately, no matter what I do, this polish always chips within a few hours. Very disappointing since its a beautiful color.

Julep Nail Polish - Julianne

Ah, I am so sad that Julep is closing down their Maven program. I used to be a member for a few years and liked that they offer an affordable option to get two nail polish and a skincare/makeup item for around $25 a month. I liked that you were able to customize and skip a month. If I had known they were going to discontinue the program, I would have definitely stocked up during their sales. Although the store is still open, I feel like the inventory won't last or they won't add new products. Granted I feel $14 normal price is a bit expensive for this nail polish as it has less than a product than it's competitors. I am usually able to get three uses of two coats before the nail polish becomes goopy. And maybe another two uses before the bottle is done while other brands I get at least 10 or more uses. Well enough of my diatribe and on to my review!

The smokey grey creme nail polish goes on smoothly. However, it goes on a bit thick than other colors. One coat does give semi-full coverage with a few opaque spots but, two coats provide full coverage. However, any more than two coats cause the nail polish to become very thick and takes forever to dry. I consider this a neutral (compared to my bright neons and colorful glitter nail polishes) that perfect to wear for work.

Julep Nail Polish - Tanya

The carbon matte (reminds me of graphite from pencil lead) nail polish provided a full coverage after two coats. The carbon matte shimmer was a pretty effect. I found that the polish lasted 2 - 3 days before chipping. However, the polish was a bit thicker than other colors.

Julep Nail Polish - Rae

Well, I am late for this review, this nail polish is apparently from 2014! The Radiant Orchid Creme finished nail polish was the Pantone® 2014 Color of the Year. It was a lush color and provided full coverage with one swipe, but was gorgeous with two.
