February 2024 Empties!

I can hardly believe it is already February but to be fair, I am ready for the cold weather to be done and to enjoy the spring time weather. I don't think I can handle another snow storm or temperatures in the single digit anymore.

I did manage to finish a few things this month. A few things were great and others were meh. I was surprised on some things that I heard rave review on was just mediocre at best.

The Winkylux Mermaid Moisture cleanser was very pretty. It had a pale blue green gel consistency and had tons of shimmer in it. It was very fun and I liked the packaging. However, it was very lackluster when it came to removing my eye makeup. I found myself using multiple pumps and still having traces of makeup on my skin.

I have used a few products from Sweet Chef before and I liked their facial sheet masks. Their packaging reminds me of the brand Tony Moly. However, their Beet + Vitamin A serum shot has been disappointing. I am not sure if I waited to long to use it but the consistency was just too thick for the eye dropper. I ended up just pouring out the serum on my palms and then rubbing it into my skin. The serum was very hydrating but I feel that I ended up using way too much product because I couldn't use the dropper.

I tend to get skin sensitivities randomly. The Olivarrier Comfort Barrier Cream has been really great at helping my skin heal. It is thick and creamy and goes on so smoothly. It dried down to a  matte finish and it wasn't too heavy. I like that it didn't have a scent. It's also great for a cold weather cream as it is very hydrating.

Was there anything that you finished this month that you liked?

Empties 2024!

I am starting off the New Year with a photo of my last empties from 2023. I am will say that it took me almost three months to get this much empties. Oddly enough in the last three months I thought I was going out more and using my products a lot more.  I guess it is an improvement that I finished one mascara during that time. Hopefully, in the next year I can pick up my momentum and start clearing up some old things to make space for the new!

I got the New York Biology Superfood Mask from Amazon a while back. It came in a set of three. I am not sure if its a legit brand because I saw similar masks with same packaging all over. It's hard to tell at times on Amazon which is a legit small company and what is a dupe or a copy.  The mask burned my face when I applied and left my skin really red and sensitive. But after a few uses, my skin did look brighter and look smoother. I do have two more containers to use but I am not in any rush to use them because of how much it burns.

The  Newmiuz Skin Glow Bath Salts smelled amazing but it was disappointing that I had to use entire tub to smell anything in the tub. The bottle was $20 so, that was one very expensive bath. I have another tub in a different scent but I am going to save it for a special occasion.

My hair is three feet long so it's a hassle to wash and take care of it. I also go through shampoo and conditioner like it's no one's business. I saw this Fuya Conditioner and was excited to try it. It had a nice tropical vibe going on but it really didn't smell like anything. As a conditioner, it worked well but otherwise pretty basic.

I tend to get hives and dry spots on my skin after coming in contact with certain things. My skin becomes so annoyingly sensitive that it itches and burns while being dry but nothing really helps. I came across Kiehl's Ultra Facial Advanced Repair Barrier Cream. It is a thick cream but goes on satin-y soft on skin and doesn't feel heavy or greasy on skin. It helps alleviate the dryness without making my skin more sensitive. Definitely a cream I am going to keep stock and an eye out for during sales.

September 2023 Empties!

I finished so many things this month that I am excited! I am can't wait for the cooler weather and the new Fall skincare goodies. I finished a lot of skincare stuff this month and barely any makeup since it was so hot that I didn't want anything on my face...not like it would have lasted with how much I was sweating.

I finished a few hair products but my favorite was the Magiforet Argan Oil Shampoo. It makes my hair smell so amazing! Even after three days of washing my hair still smells good. I finished the Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Moisturizer. It had a gel creme consistency and smoothed on so easily. It left my skin feeling soft and smooth. While the square jar can be cute, I wish they made the font size and color easier to read.

I recently discovered Evolve Beauty from my local organic and natural beauty store. I tried a few new products this and both worked well. The Radiant glow Mask smells like chocolate and leaves skin looking radiant and glowing. The Daily Renew Facial Cream didn't have any delicious smells like the mask but left skin feeling so soft and smooth. It wasn't heavy and didn't leave skin feeling tacky or sticky. It was a great day cream to wear during the hotter months.

I had the Skin Regimen 1.85 HA booster on my countertop for a while and forgot about it. I was excited to try it but was sorely disappointed. I followed the instructions but the booster left my skin irritated and I got a rash all over my face after using. Since it was a full bottle and expensive I ended up using it on my hands and legs which ended up itchy but bearable.

I heard so many good things about the Peach and Lilly Glass Skin Serum. I was pretty disappointed. I didn't notice my skin looking any different when using. I was surprised on how much I liked the Herbivore Phoenix Facial Oil. It wasn't greasy and left my skin feeling soft and moisturized. The oil does has a strong scent and it might not be for everyone.

Did you finish anything this month that you enjoyed?

August 2023 Empties!

It's been some time since I did an empties post! I actually had more products than I space for so, hopefully I would be able to do another empty post sooner than later. I did finish a lot of things but I think majority of the items were meh and things I wouldn't repurchase again. There were a few highlights and a few items that I would avoid again in the future.

The Love Beauty and Planet deodorant in coconut water and mimosa flower smelled so great and it went clear. It had a fragrant floral scent. However, during our the heatwave we got hit with, I think I will need to stick with prescription strength deodorant.

I love Elemis products and their  Pro Collagen Marine Cream is so good. It was creamy and soaked right into my skin. I used it both at night and during the day to keep my skin feeling soft and hydrated. I liked the Naven x Koa Life The Glow Up Facial Oil. I got it from Amazon and it left my skin looking so radiant. The oil is enriched with little shimmer that makes your skin glow and it smells amazing. A few drops is all I needed for a dewy look.

I didn't like the Yensa Pumpkin Tumeric mask.  I have mixed feelings with this brand. Some of their products are great while others are garbage. This mask is the latter. It had a weird consistency and no matter how much and the weather, this mask keeps melting and going into my eyes or into my mouth when I apply it. I tried using it on a cold day, it still slips down into my eyes and mouth.

The Seoulista Beauty Hydration Super Serum  is a very hydrating serum that had no added scent. However, the way to dispense the serum was innovative but hard after the product was about half way. The bottle feels heavy but the product is so slow to dispense and no matter how hard you press the squishy bottle one little teeny drops come out at a time.

May 2023 Empties

I thought the best way to start the new month was to do an empty post. I haven't really finish much last month and I been slacking. I am not sure what I was using but it caused me to get a full body and face rash so the last few weeks I been recuperating. I can't wait to start using my new Summer products though.

I finished a few bars of soap and my favorites were from Bath and Body Works and Varina soaps. Both soaps are creamy and had a generous lather. I like that both soaps had a floral scent. I have tried a few scents from both brands and none of the scents disappoint.

I love the scents from Nectar Bath Treats and I have bought a few products from them recently. However, their Foaming Bath Salts is disappointing. It's almost $9 a tube and I had to use the entire tube before I smelled anything or got any foam. I think I would rather stick to bubble bath.

The Facetory Soothin' Vibes Body Serum was okay. I used to buy a lot of their products when they used to import a lot of their inventory. It seems now they are focusing on producing their own stuff like MemeBox did before they kind of fading away. I used to subscribe to their boxes as well but I might have to get rid of my subscription as the items are starting to get repetitive and are not that great. The body serum is very thin and has a faint scent. It's neither pleasant or unpleasant. The serum is a bit sticky and leaves my skin tacky for quite some time. It's not very hydrating either.

The Herbivore Moon Fruit sleep mask is a retinol alternative. It has a pleasant fruity scent and it was a pale purple gel cream consistency. It smoothed on easily and absorbed quickly. It didn't leave my skin feeling tacky or sticky. After a few weeks of consistent use, my skin felt softer and smoother. I like that it didn't dry out my skin or make it sensitive.

March 2023 Empties!

 sce

Well, it's been some time since I did an empties post and I am actually surprised that I don't have that many empties. I did finish a few bath bombs and shower steams but nothing that was noteworthy to get again.

The same thing goes for the facial sheet masks. There was one mask that was a waste of money and surprisingly it was from one of my favorite brands. It was the Lancome Renergie Lift Multi-Action Ultra Face Mask. I loved everything I tried from this line but this mask was a dud. It was soaked with serum which is normally a great thing except, it sits on the skin and it doesn't really absorb in. And then the product pills like crazy which prevents you from layering any moisturizer or anything on top. It wasn't a great experience at all and it was $75 for 5 masks! For something that expensive, I would expect it to work better.

I surprisingly finished three bars of soap which makes me wonder how come I didn't finish much of anything else. I tried two new brands of soaps.  The Plant Apothecary Start Happy bar soap smelled so great and gave a luxurious lather. It was pleasant to use in the shower. I think I might try their other scents and body wash.  I have used Marlowe skincare products but this was my first time using their soaps. I got their Marlowe Body Scrub Soap Bar and I didn't really care for it. It was in the Champion scent. It had hints of lemon leaf, amber mist, and cedar wood. It was a fresh scent but it was on the milder side. To be honest, I rarely use the soap as I find the exfoliating bits to be too rough my skin. I unfortunately had picked a few other bars with other scents that I am now not looking forward to trying.

I used to love Sumbody care products but I recently stopped buying their products. Their stuff is all natural but I realized it wasn't a good value. The products were small and cost as much or more than "traditional" products and sometimes they didn't even do anything. I bought two masks from them (Decongesting Mud Mask and the Alpha Hydroxy Acid Mask) and there was barely any product in the containers to do for one mask. I followed the instructions and it was too watery and did nothing for my skin.

I did try this new night cream by Elemis and I am in love. Their Superfood Midnight Facial smelled amazing and fruity. It smoothed on easily and left my skin buttery soft. I think I loved putting on the cream that I went through the bottle so quickly.  I found this new brand on Amazon and their products has these weird scents but actually smell amazing. I got the Lab Squeeze Pumpkin and Carrot Vegan Hand Cream and let me tell you. This product smells amazing! I get so many compliments and people ask what perfume I am wearing. I thought it was going to smell nature-y but this was not the case here. I would definitely try and get their other products.

February 2023 Empties!

I can't believe January has already come and passed. I feel like the year has blown away so quickly.  I did manage to finish a few things this month. I was hoping to finish a few more things but, I am proud that I made progress. I also feel like its a good thing about keeping track of things I have used will help me to realize what I need to use more of and what I have tons of. For example, I have really dry skin and I only finished one bottle of body lotion. For someone who has dry and itchy skin, I should have finished more than one bottle.

I finished three bars of soap which is surprising because I haven't really been leaving the house lately and have been limiting my showering to once a day. The two new soaps I did try were nice and creamy and had a pleasant scents. They were Sunaroma in Eucaltypus  and Sylan Art Cedar Citrus soap. They both had pleasant scents and were creamy. Both brands were new to me and I would get them again.

I finished a few serums that I enjoyed using. The Lancome Renergie H.C.E Serum was amazing. I mean the serum cost a pretty penny but after a few nights of consistent use I saw a visible change in the texture of my skin. It was kind of cool that the serum was made of up three different types of serum.  The Herbivore Nova Brightening Serum had a pretty minimalist packaging. It had a strong turmeric scent and it was very creamy and hydrating. My skin felt so soft and I felt that my skin looked brighter. The only thing I didn't like is that there was some product left on the bottom of the bottle that I couldn't get out. I tried putting the container upside but some was still stuck.

The Han Skin Refining Serum was a bit interesting. It had no noticeable scent. I wasn't sure if there was supposed to be an exfoliating serum or hydrating serum. According to the instruction it has some mild exfoliating action and it leaves skin hydrated. I felt that it barely made a difference to my skin. My skin didn't really feel different after using the product consistently at night. I upped my product usage to twice a day and still didn't notice anything.

January 2023 Empties!

Wow, it's been some time since I posted an empties post...almost a whole year later ;)  I had a bit of free time on my hand I been trying to finish up some stuff. Some weeks, I do manage to finish stuff but, other weeks I get lazy and don't do anything but scroll on Instagram.

I stopped buying facial sheets unless I see a really good sale because as great as they make my skin feel, I just never feel like doing them. When I was on break during the holidays I tried using a few from my stash and while they left my skin hydrated and soft, none was really noteworthy enough to re-purchase. Plus, I find that I get the same results from layering and moisturizing more throughout the day. Perhaps, when I get out of my lazy phase I might start using them again but, it's to be seen.

I love the idea of shower steamers but, they can be a hassle because I have to really plan ahead. I used to unwrap and use the steamers while I was taking a hot shower. Now, I let the hot water run for a few minutes until my bathroom gets all hot and steamy and then I drop a steamer under the water. I find the scent to be more noticeable. I bought Dew.Well and Popchose from Amazon and I had the best results from these brands than other ones I have tried from Amazon. The scents were really fragrant and could be smelled from outside of the box. I actually been using two of the shower steamers from Popchose as air freshner as it smells so good.

I have shopped at Bath and Body Works for many years and I was so excited when I noticed they make bar soaps in some of their favorite or maybe best selling scents. I bought the Eucalyptus Spearmint and Butterfly scents. The bars smelled great and were true to their scents. The bars were a bit smaller than I was expecting or maybe it's I seem to go through them quicker than my other bars of soap. The soap is very creamy and it's not drying. However, I still had to follow up with lotion. They are a bit steep at $8.50 a bar but, that's on par with how much I pay with other triple milled or goat milk soap bars. The great thing about BBW is that they always have tons of sales though!

Is there anything you got this new year that you are excited to try?

Empties for November and December 2022!

Ah, it's almost the end of the year! I can't believe it. While it may look like I finished a few things, it's actually a bunch of stuff that I finished over two months and not nearly enough stuff as I bought. There were a few noteworthy items and a few duds.

Kopari's Tahitian Vanilla hydrating body milk smelled amazing and it was lightweight. It was perfect for the warmer months as it was hydrating but, not heavy and greasy. And the scent was so alluring and stayed on all day. This was my favorite body milk ever and I would definitely buy it again.

Araceli's  Ojos Perfectos liquid eyeliner in  Night is so dark and so easy to apply. It takes a few seconds to try and it doesn't smudge or move. I was literally using this eyeliner everyday and it lasted for months!

Lasncome Absolue Creme Riche cream made my skin feel like the softest of buttery skin. The cream itself was like butter when I smoothed it on. My skin literally drank up every ounce of moisture this cream provided. The cream is very thick and rich. It's too bad this cream costs more than I make in three days otherwise I would get it back in a heartbeat.

Tropic Labs's Washed Up all in one shower oil was an interesting concept but, a muddled execution. The shower oil supposedly helps cleans and hydrates. Except, it had no foam and it left a residue behind. When I used this product, it didn't feel like I was using anything and that I was just rinsing off my skin with water. I feel like this was more of an in shower hydrator than a cleansing product.

Blesswell Lathering Body Wash in Island Breeze is a product by DJ Khaled. I actually didn't realize it was a men's body wash nor that it was created by DJ Khaled. Overall, the product was pretty mediocre for the cost.  It smells nice but, even though it says "lathering" it had the poorest lather I ever seen for a body wash. I have seen dollar store body washes produce better results than this body wash.

October 2022 Empties!

It's been a few months since I did a beauty haul post! I would like to say with that three months of no posting I finished a million and one things but, I didn't. I did end up buying a million and one things though.  Not surprising, I finished a lot of basic items along with skin care stuff.

I finished a couple of bars of soap and a few were a lot better than the others. I enjoyed the OffCourt's exfoliating body soap scent but, I felt like the grit was a bit too rough on my skin. I  think my skin is too dry to use something this rough.  The Soap Distillery's  Bourbon soap smelled refreshing and provided a generous lather. I would get this bar again or try another scent. I like that it didn't dry out my skin. I was quite disappointed with the Nopalera Catcus soap because it was $14 a pop and it didn't lather very well. It wasn't very moisturizing and overpriced considering it was meh. I bought six bars of Humble bar soaps from Amazon and found their scents to be nice and the bars provided decent lather. I don't remember the cost but, it was cheaper than Nopalera and worked 100% times better than it.

I always liked Babor concentrated capsules and bought two additional ones: Collagen and SOS Calming.  The Collagen capsules worked great and I felt and notice a difference with my skin texture after using it for a week. The SOS calming smelled terrible almost like vomit and I didn't notice a single different thing about my skin while using. I will be avoiding repurchasing that one again.

August 2022 Empties Part 2!

I think it has been a while since I did an empty post but, I managed to finish a few things this month. Most of the stuff I finished though were okay but, a few things I did like and I  would buy back on sale.

I bought a set of soaps from Ilya and they were creamy and left my skin feeling soft. The bars were a bit smaller than my normal bars of soap. I believe the soaps are made in Turkey and they are hand made. I got these off Amazon and I am surprised by the quality since a few no name branded items were sketchy in quality and performance.

I got a body scrub from Olivia in Coco Champagne. The scrub smelled nice and rubbed in easily. It left my skin soft and hydrated but, it was on the oily side and made my tub a danger zone after washing off the scrub.

Corpus shower gel in Vert smells so good and lathered so well. A small squirt lasted so long and the scent stayed on my skin. It smelled like I was wearing perfume even if I wasn't. The  only downside is that the shower gel wasn't very moisturizing and I wasn't sure if it was because of the extreme heat  but, I noticed product would bubble up towards the top of the dispenser.

I bought two different shampoos from the brand Otaci Labs from Amazon. I have their conditioner that I am still currently using but, most of the shampoo and conditioners have this luxurious herbal scent that reminds me of the spa. Although, compared to traditional drugstore brands these were more expensive and I had to use more product to get similar results. I would still re-purchase them though if they were on sale again.

Year round I get itchy and scratchy skin. I have used Boscia products before so, I was excited to try their Cica Soothing Universal Cream. The cream can be used both on the body and the face. I have tons of face products so, I thought I would use it on body mostly. The cream had a pleasant scent and it had a gel cream texture. It applied easily but made my skin feel a bit tacky which I didn't care for.

July 2022 Empties!

Ah, it's been awhile since I did an empty post. I haven't been really keep a strict track of what I been using recently and to be honest, it's a lot less stressful. I feel like I can dedicate my time to other things that hold more value to me than spending 2 hours a week keep tracking my spending and what I used.

Surprisingly (or not) I actually finished a few things this month! I finished a few face masks and I been trying to make more of an effort to use at least 2 a week. I always buy a 20 pack when I finish one.  So far, none were standouts but, I did have one brand that was quite meh. I have used Miss Spa products before but their hydrogel lip and eye masks were terrible. The glue left residue all over my skin without any benefit at all.

I usually like "It's a 10" products but, their Miracle Whipped Styling Balm worked but, it left my hands feeling so sticky and tacky. Also, there was tons of product left in the container but, it won't dispense. I felt that was so wasteful and annoyed since it was a full bottle and smelled so nice! I discovered a new body wash from Plant Apothecary and their Be Well version smells so nice. It has hints of cypress and eucalyptus and puts a smile on my face when I use it.

The next two products I found at my local clean beauty store and I am kinda obsessed with them.  The first is the Tulip Dew Drops by Bloomeffects. The packaging is so pretty and the name is so spot on. The drops look like dew and left my skin so dewy. AND, it smells like buttered popcorn. YUM! Speaking of yum, the Evolve organic beauty Radiant Glow Mask smells and looks like chocolate. A little goes a long way otherwise you might get breakouts but, it smells sooo good. The next time I go back to the store I might see what else the store has to offer for these two brands.

May 2022 Empties!

Wow, I can't believe it is already the middle of May! I feel like the time has come and went by so quickly. I didn't really get to finish a lot of stuff this month but, I did finish a few things but, nothing really noteworthy.

I used a few masks this month and I liked the Vitamasques Vegan Collagen Eye Brighten & Firm. I felt like it left the eye area softer and smooth. I didn't even need to follow up with moisturizer.  I tried two Miss Spa eye masks and didn't care for them. While they stayed in place, I didn't notice or feel any difference on my skin after removing the mask.

The Kopari Exfoliating Crush Scrub is a new product and I was on the fence with it. It smelled nice and left my skin super moisturized because of the coconut oil. However, I had to use the entire container to cover my body and it left a mess in my tub. It clogged my hair catcher and left it look kind of disgusting.

Here is everything I finished this month -

Aloederma Aloe Brightening Mask
Vitamasques Vegan Collagen Eye Brighten & Firm
Miss Spa No Slip Future So Bright
Miss Spa Eyes on the Prize

April 2022 Empties Part 2!

Wow, can't believe April is almost finished! The month has definitely went by so quickly. I am excited that I managed to finish quite a few things though.

I always see Glamglow products being touted as a cult favorite and every time I buy one of their products, I just don't see it. I got their treatment mask and their everyday cleanser and I didn't notice any noteworthy results. The natural beauty store I shop at loves Ilia Lip Wrap but, I can't say I am in love. I feel like it makes my lip super dry and uncomfortable. I feel like I have to constantly reapply.

I love the Winky Lux Disco Kitten Gloss in Far Out. I made my lips a glittery soft pink that went perfect with my skin tone. The Freck Beauty Rich Bitch Cactus + Vitamin C Moisturizer is so thick and creamy that when I apply this at night, I wake up with super soft and hydrated skin in the morning.

I got the Aura Cacia Aromatherapy Mineral Bath - Lavender at Whole Foods when, I was supposedly shopping for food. They had a small section dedicated to things that help promote a more restful sleep. The single use packet was enough for one bath and it did make me feel more restful. I love the sleek packaging of Aster Raine Reverse Serum but, honestly it was one of the most stinkiest serums I ever used. I am not sure if it actually worked but, I was really glad when I finished the bottle. I also loved the Basd body lotion. The peppermint scent was so invigorating in the morning.

Here is everything I finished this month -

Margot Elena Library of Flowers Willow & Water Body Wash

April 2022 Empties!

I finished quite a few things this month! But, I need to hold on to this momentum and not buy anything else...or at least try not to ;)

I finished a few masks this month. I was trying to do a new sheet mask every other day and I think I managed to meet that goal. I like the Let Me Skin mask because it was so hydrating. I am not sure why it was called "ultra bubble" but, it was super hydrating.  I like the Purenskin Natural Effect Real Green Tea Mask but, it was a bit more messy than it needed to be. I also had a hard time to pop the bubble to mix the products. I liked the Super Hyalon G:H8 Super Hyalon Ampoule product. However, I felt like the packaging was a bit wasteful.

I like the creamy Payot Paris Hydra 24+ Creme Glacee. It goes on smoothly and my skin just drinks it up. I wasn't a fan of the Meta~Pora Smile Daily Eye Serum. I didn't really notice any results and felt like it was just regular aloe vera I was rubbing on.

Here is everything I finished this month -

Frecipe Peach Jelly Bomb Mask
Nature Republic Acai Berry Mask Sheet
Jant Blanc Honey Essential Sheet Mask
Bonvivant Botanical Mask Pack - Rose
Miss Spa Brighten Mask

March 2022 Empties!

Wow, March is almost half over. The year has flown by so quickly! I did manage to finish a few things this month and I am excited to take advantage of new sales!

I finished a few masks that I enjoyed using. I used this sticky Natto mask from VT that was kind of sticky but, super moisturizing. I have used Simply When masks before and I got the illuminate mask. It made my skin feel so soft and glowy.

I got the April Aromatherapy Mint Eucalyptus Bath Soak from the dollar store and it was pretty decent for the price. The smell did last for a bit and it left my skin hydrated after my bath.  I heard good things about the Summer Fridays CC Me Serum but, I felt that it was mediocre. I didn't really notice a difference using it. I wouldn't buy it again.

Here is everything I finished -

Averelle Acne Cover Patch
Skip the Spa Deep Cleansing Detoxifying Pore Strips Watermelon
Detoskin Lilly Floris Mask
111Skin Rose Gold Illuminating Eye Mask

February 2022 Empties!

I can't believe it is already February, I felt like January went by so quickly. I finished a few things but, it was mostly a lot of face masks, lip balms and moisturizers. I finished a few things that I enjoyed using and will repurchase but, not many things made that list.

I tried a few masks and some were noteworthy. The TULA instant facial mask was okay and it kind of burned when I applied it. I am not sure if the pad was supposed to peel off but, I got little "plant fibers" all over my face that was a pain. I don't foresee myself purchasing this again. The Rain Organica Firefly Facial Mask was one of the most annoying masks I ever used. The large grained mask was hard to apply and stay put. The ingredients were coarsely chopped so most of it was caught in my drain stopper.

I liked the OneKind Dream Cream Nightime Moisturizer as was very creamy and I felt like I noticed my skin more hydrated when I woke up in the morning. The Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser was okay, it didn't really remove tough mascara makeup and I had to use a lot of product before I noticed any results. I loved the Tbg. Lava Face Mask as it smelled like tootsie rolls. I did notice that this mask was very hydrating and it kind of lead to me getting a lot of breakouts after using. However, I love the packaging and the scent so much!

Is there anything you finished this month that you liked?
