February 2024 Empties!

I can hardly believe it is already February but to be fair, I am ready for the cold weather to be done and to enjoy the spring time weather. I don't think I can handle another snow storm or temperatures in the single digit anymore.

I did manage to finish a few things this month. A few things were great and others were meh. I was surprised on some things that I heard rave review on was just mediocre at best.

The Winkylux Mermaid Moisture cleanser was very pretty. It had a pale blue green gel consistency and had tons of shimmer in it. It was very fun and I liked the packaging. However, it was very lackluster when it came to removing my eye makeup. I found myself using multiple pumps and still having traces of makeup on my skin.

I have used a few products from Sweet Chef before and I liked their facial sheet masks. Their packaging reminds me of the brand Tony Moly. However, their Beet + Vitamin A serum shot has been disappointing. I am not sure if I waited to long to use it but the consistency was just too thick for the eye dropper. I ended up just pouring out the serum on my palms and then rubbing it into my skin. The serum was very hydrating but I feel that I ended up using way too much product because I couldn't use the dropper.

I tend to get skin sensitivities randomly. The Olivarrier Comfort Barrier Cream has been really great at helping my skin heal. It is thick and creamy and goes on so smoothly. It dried down to a  matte finish and it wasn't too heavy. I like that it didn't have a scent. It's also great for a cold weather cream as it is very hydrating.

Was there anything that you finished this month that you liked?

February 2023 Empties!

I can't believe January has already come and passed. I feel like the year has blown away so quickly.  I did manage to finish a few things this month. I was hoping to finish a few more things but, I am proud that I made progress. I also feel like its a good thing about keeping track of things I have used will help me to realize what I need to use more of and what I have tons of. For example, I have really dry skin and I only finished one bottle of body lotion. For someone who has dry and itchy skin, I should have finished more than one bottle.

I finished three bars of soap which is surprising because I haven't really been leaving the house lately and have been limiting my showering to once a day. The two new soaps I did try were nice and creamy and had a pleasant scents. They were Sunaroma in Eucaltypus  and Sylan Art Cedar Citrus soap. They both had pleasant scents and were creamy. Both brands were new to me and I would get them again.

I finished a few serums that I enjoyed using. The Lancome Renergie H.C.E Serum was amazing. I mean the serum cost a pretty penny but after a few nights of consistent use I saw a visible change in the texture of my skin. It was kind of cool that the serum was made of up three different types of serum.  The Herbivore Nova Brightening Serum had a pretty minimalist packaging. It had a strong turmeric scent and it was very creamy and hydrating. My skin felt so soft and I felt that my skin looked brighter. The only thing I didn't like is that there was some product left on the bottom of the bottle that I couldn't get out. I tried putting the container upside but some was still stuck.

The Han Skin Refining Serum was a bit interesting. It had no noticeable scent. I wasn't sure if there was supposed to be an exfoliating serum or hydrating serum. According to the instruction it has some mild exfoliating action and it leaves skin hydrated. I felt that it barely made a difference to my skin. My skin didn't really feel different after using the product consistently at night. I upped my product usage to twice a day and still didn't notice anything.

February 2022 Haul!

Wow, February is almost half way done! I can't believe how fast the month has sped by! I did get a few new exciting things I am excited to try out.

I got a few new face sheet masks and I been trying to use them more often. I love The Beautiful Factr. masks and I got a new hydrating one. I feel like the winter has dried out my skin. My skin is usually left glowy after using their masks, so I am excited. I also like the "I'm sorry for my skin" masks. These masks come PACKED with thick hydrating serum. These are masks a great for dehydrated skin.

I love taking baths and I am so excited to try these lovely scented foaming bath bombs from Find your happy place. Even the name sounds fun! I got a new detox shampoo from Ouai because my hair is always in it's mood. I rarely put excess products in my hair but, I still find that my hair feels so much better when I do a scalp scrub or use a detox shampoo.

I believe I have tried a few things from Malin+Goetz but, I got a mojito lip balm and it sounds like it would be amazing. I know this brand has a cult following, so it must be good. So, I have had Kombucha but, my tummy doesn't agree with it. However, I am hoping this kombucha mist from ElishaCoy works some miracles on my dehydrated and dull skin!

February 2022 Empties!

I can't believe it is already February, I felt like January went by so quickly. I finished a few things but, it was mostly a lot of face masks, lip balms and moisturizers. I finished a few things that I enjoyed using and will repurchase but, not many things made that list.

I tried a few masks and some were noteworthy. The TULA instant facial mask was okay and it kind of burned when I applied it. I am not sure if the pad was supposed to peel off but, I got little "plant fibers" all over my face that was a pain. I don't foresee myself purchasing this again. The Rain Organica Firefly Facial Mask was one of the most annoying masks I ever used. The large grained mask was hard to apply and stay put. The ingredients were coarsely chopped so most of it was caught in my drain stopper.

I liked the OneKind Dream Cream Nightime Moisturizer as was very creamy and I felt like I noticed my skin more hydrated when I woke up in the morning. The Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser was okay, it didn't really remove tough mascara makeup and I had to use a lot of product before I noticed any results. I loved the Tbg. Lava Face Mask as it smelled like tootsie rolls. I did notice that this mask was very hydrating and it kind of lead to me getting a lot of breakouts after using. However, I love the packaging and the scent so much!

February 2021 Haul Part 2!

Wow, the month has blown by...in a flurry of snow and rain showers. Although, I am not really sad to see February go because the weather has been intolerable. I am very excited for warmer weather on the horizon.

I have finished quite a few masks this month so, I bought a bunch to replenish my stock...even though I finished 10 and bought over 30... I bought some more Aroh, Detoskin, and Factory branded masks. I had really good results with their masks previously so, I wanted to try other masks from the line. I have noticed a difference with my skin texture and hydration when I been using the facial sheet masks more consistently.

I got some new lip products...you already know the drill. I have an obsession with lip products but, yet I never seem to finish any except one balm every season. I bought two new MAC lipsticks in Mixed Media and Russian Red. Mixed Media is darker than I normally go but, I thought the swatches online looked really good. I am excited to wear it when dining out. I heard many good things about the Natasha Denona brand and this is my first lip product by them. I am really excited to try it. I got a new lip product by Clarins. I never tried any of their makeup items but, their skincare items work well. The rest of the items are things I have bought before or different colors in the same line.

I bought two new products from Earth Harbor. I have quite a few products from them already.  I am really loving their Tidal Rose hydration mist. It smells so lovely.  I got their Sunshine Dew cleansing oil and the Aqua Aura eye cream. The one thing I don't like is that even though they have a very minimal aesthetic going on, they don't have any instructions on their packaging. I had bought a kit and it was annoying that I had to look up the instructions as it wasn't obvious.

I been loving serums lately! They definitely give you the biggest bang for your buck. I bought Byroe Tomato Serum. It looks so thick and luxurious. I can't wait to give it a try. I got a facial oil from Edible Beauty and the packaging is so cute! And finally, I got a Summer Friday mask because I been seeing it everywhere on IG. I can't wait to try it during my next spa day!

February 2021 Empties!

Wow, its the middle of February already! I am not sad that this month is almost over because I am tired of the snow. It's been snowing at least every other day already.

I am so proud of myself! I finished so many sheet masks and full size items. I think this is the most I ever finished in one month.  There were a few things that I liked this month. I liked the Pure Lotus Mask, the Minus Mask, the Beautiful Factr, and the Facetory Artemisia mask. I would repurchase these mask especially, if they were on sale. I found that they worked well and felt very soothing against my skin.

I liked the Too Cool for School moisturizer.  It was very thick and I feel like my skin hydrating. I wasn't crazy about the texture though. It felt a bit tacky and goop when applying to my skin. I got the Collagen socks and gloves set because my limbs always need extra hydration during the winter. I like that these had detachable sections so, you can apply nail polish with the mask on. The other stuff I finished and they were okay. I would be in no rush to re-purchase them again.

Here is a list of everything I finished -

Lala Chuu Soothing Essential Mask White Truffle

February 2021 Haul!

I can't believe that January is over! I feel like the year has been moving so quickly. Today, we had a big snowstorm and I thought it was the perfect time to go through some of my purchases.

I bought a few more face masks from Facetory and Ulta. I got a few more When masks. I love their masks and when they are on sale, its a good deal. I got some Amazon and they were a $1 a packet. They are usually okay but, this was before I realized that I could just wait and get some masks on sale from more reputable brands. I got an avocado mask pack for my scalp because during the winter my scalp gets so dry and itchy. I am hoping with this mask pack that it will keep my scalp in good condition.

I been doing my nails at home more often. And I never really used a top or base coat and it really does make a difference. I bought a set of Seche Vite top and base coat because I heard so many good things about this brand. I bought quite a few new lip products because I have a mental problem. But I bought a few Colourpop lipsticks from their Villians line and I am in love. I can't wait to wear these out in public. I got Ursula, Cruella, and Evil Queen (and La Lady from their regular line). I love Urban Decay and I got Backtalk. This isn't usually a color I reach for but, I am trying to move out of my comfort zone. I also got some new lip products from Bite Beauty, Half Baked, Tarte, Smith and Cult, and Stila I love these brands and just got new colors for products I already own.

I got some makeup wipes for days I am just so lazy even though my skin always revolt the next day. I got one from Ricky's and the other by a brand called "Flaunt". I can't even where I bought this from but, I am thinking it was probably one of those discount makeup sites I visit and things are usually "cheap" that I just buy it because its a "good deal".

I bought the Factory Oats facial oil. I have used quite a few of their branded products and think that they do a good job at an affordable price. I bought the ElishaCoy hyalurone cream because I have used the essence and it always left my skin hydrated. I also finished a cream I use in the night so, I might rotate this one in.

Hydrating Facial
Bring a pot of water to boil. Add chamomile, lavender, rose, or green tea, then remove from the stove. Cool until the steam feels comfortable, and sit for a few minutes with your face a foot from the water with a towel over your head. Steam opens your pores to dislodge dirt and dead skin.
