Burt’s Bees Nourishing Lip Balm with Mango Butter

I love mangoes and I am quite fond of Burt’s Bees lip balm so I thought this would be the perfect combination. Although the person who thought “Fruit” and “Cake” would be a great idea is sadly mistaken. The lip balm is infused with nourishing mango butter that promises to smooth and hydrate dry chapped lips. I like the fruit scent of the lip balm and I believe there was a slight mangoey taste. My only misgiving is that my lips didn’t stay hydrated and I was constantly re-applying -- granted it could be my fault that it smelled so sweet and tasted so yummy I kept licking the lip balm off.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Rose Petals Lip Balm

The Rose Petal lip balm is supposedly should smell like roses but it doesn’t smell anything close to it. It wasn’t  particularly bad smelling either; I was just not very fond of it. The rich creamy lip balm goes on smooth and leaves my lips soft.  The non sticky lip balm is formulated 10% shea butter which was naturally sourced. The lip balm promises to “nourish, protect and repair dry and chapped lips” and doesn’t leave lips greasy. Overall,  I did like the lip balm [it did live up to it’s promise] but didn’t really care for the scent and the taste.

Spice Island Ayurvedic Body Butter Passion Fruit

Passion fruit are known for being jammed pack with antioxidants and flavonoids. Passion fruit’s oil provides a protective moisture barrier that makes your skin soft, smooth and dewy. This thick creamy body butter goes on smoothly and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. The fruity scented body butter is very intoxicating. I use this before going to bed and wake up with softer and youthful looking skin.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Extra Gentle Soap – Milk

I love this sweet scented soap. The creamy soap gives a generous lather and leaves skin feeling soft to the touch. It is a treat to use this in the shower as the scent wafts through the air and  leaves a delicate scent on your skin. The soap is 100% vegetable based and is packed with wholesome shea butter. You can also feel good while cleansing as the company works with women operated Shea processing collectives in West Africa.

Victoria Secrets Pink Vanilla & Shea Butter Body Lotion

I came across this body lotion while canvassing the outlet mall. The creamy body lotion has a nice fresh scent. Even though the scent is vanilla and shea butter, I couldn’t smell any of the vanilla.  The non-greasy formula does an average job of keeping my skin moisturized. I used to keep bottle on my desk but it didn’t keep my hands from looking scaly and dry but my hands smelled great. I know why this was 85% off at Victoria Secret.

Keri Shea Butter Conditioning Therapy Lotion

In the late winter and early summer my skin looks like a scaly desert. As unpleasant as that sounds it feels more unpleasant. Apart from the dry scaly appearance, my skin is also itchy and just quite uncomfortable. I have heard of the moisturizing and hydrating effects of shea butter and I heard this lotion had ample amounts of shea butter. The lotion is very thick, greasy and leaves a sticky residue because of the shea butter. I usually wear it a bit before going bed [I don’t like wearing lotion after showering] to allow it to fully absorb, otherwise I would stick to the sheets and everything else, but when I wake up my skin is soft and renewed. I use this as a weekly treatment rather than a daily lotion.

Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter - Peach Parfait

After reading tons of rave reviews of this lip butter, I wanted to give this a try.  This lip butter promises to leave my lips baby soft and smooth while imparting a touch of color. The creamy lip butter is packed with mango, shea, and coconut butter. While the lip butter melted on my lips and left my lips buttery soft upon application, I noticed the color was a bit of splotchy.  It reminds me of Burt’s Bees lip shimmer but this was a bit more moisturizing and the color had a better payoff. This lip butter was good for the moisturizing benefits but mediocre on the color.

Sephora Super Supreme Body Butter

I recently bought this for my trip to Amsterdam. Usually, my skin has a habit of acting up every time I am on vacation trying to look pretty. Not this time! Good bye dry scaly skin and hello smooth, soft baby skin! I love how moisturized it left my skin.  The body butter was thick and was absorbed quickly. I was especially in love with the fact that my skin didn’t feel sticky after application. I like how the butter was packed with HydroSenn+,  shea, illipe and mango butters. I will definitely stock up on this and use it through the year.

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

As a nervous nail bitter, my cuticles are saved because of this cream.  This lemon cream is infused with sweet almond oil, cocoa seed butter, vitamin E and sunflower oil. The cream goes on smoothly and softens cuticles quickly. I love how well-manicured this cuticle cream makes my hands look.  It is a nice cheap organic way to pamper myself.

Zoe and Zac Sweet Papaya lip butter

Photo Credit: Zoe and Zac Naturals

While trying to outrun Mother Nature’s sudden downpour, I ran into the nearest store I could find. Luckily, Payless now carry a beauty line [Yay! Entertainment! ].  I decided to buy the Zoe and Zac sweet papaya lip butter, because it was on sale for $3 dollars and I didn’t want any more dirty looks from the cashiers. [Like they've never run into a store to get out of the rain] The lip butter was greasy and the little moisture it does provide vanishes in 15 minutes.   I can’t really complain because it is a $3 lip butter at Payless, it not like I expected top quality makeup. Next time, I will just buy some stockings or an accessory.
